Crazy Public Busses in Ixtapa, Mexico
[Recorded January 2012] NOTE: Shots were taken while walking and eating at a restaurant. Please pardon camera control. I found that drivers were upset and ...
We got some interesting "dollar vans" in North Jersey and Brooklyn & Queens
that compete with NJ Transit & MTA buses. A lot of the ones in Jersey are
some real strange-looking buses made by companies I've never heard of,
school buses and the usual Ford cutaway vans. Most of the ones in the outer
boroughs are PIMPED OUT (can't stress that enough) Ford vans with rims,
flat screen TVs inside, air horns, and of course they blast music nonstop.
I've considered it, but I decided that the extreme fishbowl distortion
(used to get that super wide angle shot) is a bit much for filming
elevators. Wouldn't do me much good with car washes either. It's great for
some people (athletes especially), but I don't think it's a very good match
for me. I am keeping my eye out for a new camera though. The TX100v is
getting really torn up.
I used a full camcorder back in 2010 (ended up selling it to Dieselducy).
For what I'm doing, the quality between it and the TX100v is negligible so
the extra bulk was useless. Most of what I film is done best on the least
noticeable camera possible. I'd use my iPhone if it had expandable storage
and a wider angle lens.
I haven't been that impressed with anything that Sony has released since
the TX10 and 100v. Honestly, the 200v looks like a distinct downgrade from
the 100v. I'm not completely opposed to the GoPro idea. It just doesn't
seem like the best fit. Any thoughts (from anyone)?
As always, I'd recommend getting a real camcorder. The video quality is
much better and you can use "slealth mode" by just flipping the screen in.
I have been filming (elevators) with my HDR-cx260v for 6 months and it has
worked out well.
This is kind of a strange suggestion... but how about a Microsoft Surface
tablet or iPad kind of thing? Both shoot at least 720p, and they can make
it seem that you're checking something on your tablet.
there all by owner and there called peseros y camiones and the way it works
someone buys one and then they give it to someone and the driver has to
give a % of the money they make!
Going Places - Transport in the United States circa 1950 - WDTVLIVE42
Educational film showing transport in America in the late 1940's and early 1950's. The film also explains measures needed to be taken to help ease congestion ...
Notice who paid for this films production? Just happens to be the largest
maker of electrical equipment. Wonder if that influenced the emphasis on
electricity as the main power source. Trolly buses even. Doesn't detract
from the fact that different modes of transportation have different levels
of efficiency depending on density of people to be moved. Automobiles seem
best suited to low density suburban and rural areas. Public transport is
almost a requirement for dense urban areas. I've lived in Tokyo and would
like to see automobiles move the number of people public transport does.
Not to mention the land area required for it. Google or youtube Shinjuku
station on the yamanote line, over 3 million people per day use it. BTW
the cars of this short are very stylish but their durability was limited. A
'52 any make was considered worn out at 90,000 miles.
I knew those trolley buses in my country too. Ah, those American cars. When
a Ford could be told miles away from a Buick...Sorry not to pay attention
to the educational aspect of the video. It is difficult to think the good
USA was once like that. Thanks for listing this video
@llanamejia I must admit I was far more interested in the images of cars,
bus and trolleys than what was being said. The streetscape scenes are just
so different to today.
Kind of weird that they knew transit was important back then, but they
still went ahead and dismantled most of the rapid transit rail and trolley
bus lines.
I'm glad Philly has kept theirs as well! Well, some of them anyhow.
