Don Williams, as humble as a man he is, I wonder if the awards were nothing
more than a paper weight to him. It was never about being recognized for
his contribution to music, but the content of the music. To quote Don, all
he felt he was trying to do "was frame the picture". And he's done that
masterfully for 41 years, and I hope he has many more ahead of him.
I was fortunate enough to be able to see Don perform at Country Tonite
Theatre in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee the past two years. Even more fortunate
that I have front row seats to see him again this year. This may very well
be his last year of touring. If you want to see him try to catch him at one
of his performances this year.
If I had followed the recommendation of an Integris Health System ER
physician assistant in 2004, my then 15 mo. old son would have been dead
that night! Luckily I took him back an he later, then it had to be by
ambulance. Where I overheard the ER staff question paramedics about whether
they saw my son blue or if only I said it! They confirmed it and the ER Dr
saw him and came back quickly saying "thus baby's blood sugar is over 500!
He is in bad shape and severely dehydrated! " I yelled out "No Shit
ASSHOLE"!!! My son was admitted for treatment for several days from a
gastrointestinal virus (Rota virus ) that causes severe life threatening
dehydration from the lining of the gastrointestinal tract being shed very
rapidly. Our pediatrician told us if we had stayed home our son would have
died. Since the insurance company objected about the number of visits that
day seeking treatment b4 we actually received any, part of our bill was not
paid, and Integris Health Systems had the nerve to send ugly collection
letters and begin a law suit against us for non payment of part of that
bill insurance denied.
OMG! They sent us collection papers on my son's appendectomy before our insurance company could even process the paperwork. It know how infuriating they are. Sorry : / I'm glad your son is okay.
