yes cut the power wire...you don't want to take the chance of getting in series with the neutral wire...I am a certified unrestricted master electrician

good vid, but you f-ed up at the end placing the 120v at the top near your water. you talk about safety then you do something dangerous.

I cut the hot wire. But it dosnt matter which wire you cut from the pump to wire in the relay.
