2005 Chevy Silverado VGR: Viewer Guest Review
//www.TFLtruck.com ) The 2005 Chevy Silverado is is now 10-years-old but this truck is still running strong. In this TFLTruck viewer Guest Review Jake ...
Man I want your truck! Great review. I have my dads old 99 Silverado right
now with 260k but decent rust on her. work truck for all 17 years of its
life before I got it. Still runs great but with living in New York the rust
has gone too far, Dad never got her undercoated, but still love the truck
and planning on keeping it another 2 years to save some money. Definitely
want to find an 06 or 05 1500 z71 with low miles and no rust. Something I
can work with and put undercoatings on it. Good thing is there's a bunch of
beautiful trucks like yours out there.
I suppose that's true. And thanks! She's got some dings and scratches in person but very little rust. I'm doing my best to keep the salt and snow from doing any more damage with frequent washes in the winter, undercoating and more undercoating lol. Hopefully it works.
I could beat the balls off my truck climbing stuff and post a video but that isn't the point of a review. As for the tire I was running on the spare because I had a hole in my tire. When you get off the internet and stop being a troll and use your truck to do work sometimes you may get a screw in your tire now and then.
cant beat a smallblock chevy. the ecotec 3 is based on this 5.3 vortec
design. chevy improved rather than make something new with unproven engine.
ford is not so smart abandoning the 4.6. ford should have upgraded the
proven 4.6 and in my opinion is their biggest mistake. no matter since for
the first time im glad to have a chevy :)
Great trucks however they are not without fault:
1. Factory locking differential is junk.
2. Stock brakes are adequate but definitely could be better.
3. 99-06 are prone to rocker panel/cab corner rust.
g80 is still alive and well but I'm waiting for the day I hear crunch BOOM! I actually upgraded the brakes to ebc pads and some new better rotors and it stops great now. big improvement although those pads were like 125 bucks. Oh well it was worth it. Cab corners and rockers are holding strong getting crusty on the insides but I'm spraying them constantly with krown rust protectant so we will make um last as long as possible.
I put 200,000 miles on 06 version of this truck pulling trailers, only
difference was mine was rated at 310 hp 5.3 vortec,had the 373 gears,was a
good truck but traded it off for a duramax since my trucks always have a
trailer on them
Good vid. Makes me want to do a video of my 2007 F150 Lariat SuperCrew. I
love the 5.4 Triton. Maybe I will do one in the future. I need to get a Go
Pro. Shooting a video with my Android phone would be terrible.
I think Jake did a real good job. I had an older Chevy 2500 Silverado and
loved it. The thing was like driving sitting on a couch. So comfortable for
a truck. I didn't catch it ,but what did this have for a motor?
