Of all the vids ive seen on retractable casters for a tool stand, this one
is easily the most primitive & seemingly dangerous of them all. Simply for
the fact that u must tip & hold it at that angle, while u r using your foot
to engage the casters, putting it directly under all that weight of the
tool & stand. Im wondering why u went this route, as opposed to using a cam
lever or something, making it easy on yourself by not having to hold it
angled until u r done fumbling around w/the casters until it flips into its
designated spot? Thanks for posting, regardless
This is exactly what I was looking for, and needed to see! Thank you for
the video.
Some feedback...
What is that thing swinging in and out of video bottom right? Camera
strap? Very distracting.
Angle of video is overhead, but casters are way below. Cannot see how you
did it. I cannot see any detail at all, so very hard to replicate. Angle
should be at same level.
Camera shaking a lot, makes viewer dizzy. Use a tripod or place on a table
while you point out details and method.
Showing type of casters used - just a visual would be most helpful.
Excelent idea !! Very simple and easy to make. Right now I am going to do
it. Let me give you a sugestion : perhaps you can improve your video. In
some moment, there are something like a rope hanging and moving, that
disturb the eyes. Avoid the excesive camera movements . Perhaps, if you
make again the same video, with my sugestions it would be GREAT.
Nevertheless, without good videos technics, your idea is, I`ll repeat,
wonderful
Awesome idea! I did this tonight with a table saw I picked up at a yard
sale. Works great. I sprung for some Medium duty casters for oil and
chemicals for .20 cents more because they roll nice and smooth. Thanks for
the innovation!
Awsome. I just got a new contractor craftsman table saw that must weigh
200 lbs. It doesn't roll, and I have a 1 ca garage for my shop. THis is
the perfect solution!!

Ja ich habe es gesehen. Genial ! Evt. könntest du ja ein How to machen, wie man welche ohne Bandsäge macht.
Someone found the site and gave me the link - so, as promised, here's the link to the place I got this idea from: //lumberjocks.com/projects/30738 Thank you ...
That was my post! Looking to build some new mobile bases for some other
tools and thought this one looked familiar. :) Glad you got good use out of
my design.
+Joel Wires It took you long enough - where have you been? ;)I used casters with posts instead of plates, 'cause that's what I had on hand. One of the 2-bys cracked through the hole and I had to glue it up. Other than that, it's still working great.
