Do you think potatoes would grow well in unfinished/trench compost? I noticed Patrick was growing his in leaf mulch, coffee and vermicasting - composting in-situ as they grew.

I think they are determinant but I am not 100% sure!

Will try it this year. I have spare seed potatoes after the grow bags. Also growing purple ones :-) No idea if they are determinate or indeterminate, maybe I can look them up.

+Darkfalz79 AS long as the compost is not a hot one it should do well. Might be a good plant for an unfinished trench compost!

They did very well however I did have trouble with the compost one heating up and nearly killing the plant to start with.

My container potatoes flopped. I think it is because they were not chitted. I am going to try again, despite the time left. Hope yours do great!
