+TheSWFuniverse always thought that was the one thing that held this game back from being perfect, this game was developed in the small window where Ric Flair had been fired from WCW for no showing a scheduled appearance on Thunder.
+BoyDanny93 Don't forget the first two Smackdown Games. Smackdown 2 on PS1 was the shit. I liked WCW nWo revenge, but SD2 was just too sweeeeeeet!!! :D
+TheSWFuniverse I just sold all of my empty NES/SNES/N64 boxes a few days ago in a bulk auction for $450. There were 59 boxes, I probably could have made a little more if I sold them individually, but I was pretty happy to make that much money off of a bunch of cardboard. I should have kept the holographic card as a keepsake, but I let it go. I'm pretty sure the later versions of the game didn't come with the card attached to the back.
+TheSWFuniverse Remember the holographic card that came attached to the back of the box showing four animated screenshots? I thought that was incredible when I first purchased the game. My first match was with Mr. Ass whose character/theme song I was OBSESSED with at the time, and I went into the game not knowing if he would have his current theme or not, I remember being overjoyed to hear "Ass Man" coming out the speakers.. Stuff like pulling down your pants, pulling a sock out of your pants, or animated fingers were so mind blowing at that time. Now we take so much for granted. I remember my initial impression of WCW/nWo Revenge I was so blown away with how good the Nitro arena looked, how improved the likenesses were over WCW World Tour. They put so much work into making every little thing authentic and accurate.
+TRJ2241987 hahaha yes, I remember having my mother (I was then 16 yet to get my license) to the mall to get WM2000 on launch day! Classic times! I still recall using Stone Cold vs. HHH being my first match in the game.
I still remember getting it on launch day in October so vividly. I can still remember specifically where the game was in the glass case at KB Toys, and my older brother calling me on the phone later that night asking me if I had gotten it. I remember the next year getting WM2000 at launch, and to prove to my friend over the phone that I had gotten it, he made me play the Big Show theme song through the receiver and he started freaking out when it played. Those days seem like yesterday.
15:22 To be fair, Bret Hart was known for kicking out of the Perfect Plex.
I remember tag team matches being an absolute chore, especially in
Championship Mode. All attempts at pinfalls would result in the opponent's
partner leaping into the ring and stopping the count. I remember I had to
make sure the other guy was knocked off the apron before I'd go for the
pin, and even then I would just barely squeak by with a 3-count.
I get that, I in turn prefer No Mercy to Wrestlemania 2000....but never would have happened without the WCW games first and Revenge was easily the best of that bunch
Nice job, Mike! Your wrestling knowledge definitely shines through in this
review. As much as I like the 16 bit WWF games, I'll admit that the N64
ones are better. The "stupid LJN!" bit cracked me up, although, to go full
nerdy on you, the more appropriate insult would be "stupid Sculptured
Software!" That doesn't have as good of a ring to it, though, does it? LOL.
I knew that LJN comment would hit home with you....and others honestly....it's like the Mick Foley cheap pop. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the 16 Bit WWF Wrestling Games (Rage in the Cage on Sega CD is a big time favorite) but it's impossible to say that AKI/THQ transition into 3d wasn't amazing compared to what we had before....and continued to get better when WWF came into the picture...and there was actually entrance music...stupid WCW
I played this game for 48 hours straight when it first came out. It was
ridiculously awesome. The engine that it ran on needs to be on a
re-released wrestling game. You should check out Fire Pro Returns on PSN
store for PS3 and download some roster edit game saves that are out there.
Truly amazing.
Yeah i didn't leave the house for a while either...I have always heard good things about the Fire Pro Wrestling games but have never really given them a chance
Ah, the AKI games. I'll always have fond memories of when I actually gave a
crap about wrestling video games. The only thing they're good for now is
VGCW. At least, in my opinion.
+MichaelBtheGameGenie Video Game Championship Wrestling. It's some dude who runs events on Twitch and kinda makes up a whole season and PPVs to go along with it entirely made up of Create-A-Wrestlers. Like, in the last one I watched I believe Red Trainer from Pokemon was challenging the champion Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. It's pretty goofy but kinda rad. It has a whole wiki and storylines made in the event creator engine and all sorts of crazy stuff. It even links to all the videos so you can either watch them by themselves or watch them with the chat flipping out on the side when something totally insane happens.//vgcw.wikia.com/wiki/Video_Game_Championship_Wrestling_Wiki
Ugh...20 minutes of bullshit. Anyone over the age of 13 who believes
wrestling is real, please plan on not reproducing.
Also, anyone else think that Paul was being a total douche in this episode?
I'm all about competition and having fun, but his jabs at Nick were just
petty in my opinion.
WWF No Mercy is the best of the N64 wrestling games! Learn your rosters,
children. :) lol jk jk It's been like 20 years since WCW was popular so no
biggie lol
+NikateeN Don't worry, I made every single wrestler in No Mercy a next-to-naked woman, so I could simulate matches between them. You definitely do some immature shit in games when you're 13.
It's all politics I tell ya. I parked my car in Hulk Hogans spot and the bastard went crying to management. I had to re debut as faggot ho was licker and now no wrestling company will ever hire me again.
WCW/NWO Revenge Roster
Complete roster for the WCW/NWO Revenge N64 video game.Wrath is also available as a playable character through GameShark.
Comparing the final release version of WCW/nWo Revenge to it's many beta versions. This video contains lots of differences, from character faces, names, attires ...
This is the best wrestling game I have ever played. There is a lot of
variety in the game play with over 60 wrestlers and a bunch of different
arenas there is no end to the possibilities. Also the three different
levels differ greatly. On easy your opponent just follows you around only
doing the occasional move, while on hard it is near impossible. Your
opponent is always throwing devastating maneuvers your way and reversing
your moves.
Where did you get that WCW/nWo Revenge logo? Did you find it from a site or
make it yourself? I only ask because I need a logo for my videos and I
can't find one as clean looking as yours. Any help would be appreciated and
keep up the great work on your channel!
I also couldn't help but notice where it said "balance" under some of the
wrestlers showcased on the select screen. Would that mean the wrestler's
styles, like "balance" as opposed to "power" or something to that extent?
WCW/nWo Revenge - Full WCW World Heavyweight Run w/Sting (Hard Difficulty)
WCW/nWo Revenge full World Heavyweight Title run with Sting on the Hard difficulty setting. Featuring matches against (in order): 1:00 vs. British Bulldog (4 min ...
+Bruno Cassio Yeah WCW/nWo Revenge didn't have a storyline for the Championship modes. Isn't wasn't until WM2000 were you got a "career" mode, but it wouldn't be a full fledged storyline until WWF No Mercy.
+Chris zoellner Rope break was definitely on, in championship mode it's always on. You can see that in the beginning when it displays the rules. I just was able to use the Scorpion Deathlock efficiently so that I was getting the rope break.
+Chris zoellner I only used a weapon briefly in the beginning, and it doesn't really guarantee you the victory. I figured if Sting starts with a weapon might as well use it :-)
WCW NWO Revenge - Special Tutorial
Shows you how to dizzy the opponent using a taunt. Great way to set them up for a special with no escape. High Quality Version: ...
this is still the best wrestling game and one of the funnest games i've
ever played! some of my favorite moves: nash's power bomb off the top of
the turnbuckle the giant's ass-ramming into an opponent in the turnbuckle
Cool beams. The timing is diff with each wrestler but with Scott, it's
inescapable as soon as you hold the stick when your weak A grab finishes.
But yeah, the special taunt is what dizzies them. Thankx for the reply.
@toadman842 Hold L button as the finisher ends. It can force a pin without
the player getting up if you are close enough after the finisher. Doesn't
mean it will be a 3 count pin but it's one way to force them down.
acidglow !! What on earth do you do when your opponents is doing a grapple
move on you ? THOSE counters. You just mash everything ? I never learned,
NOWHERE tells. All luck when I counter those
Wow all the time I spent playing this game I never knew that, that would
make spears and stuff like that easier to hit. Does this tip work for NO
MERCY as well?
