This video is about the Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) that you will need to run the 2011 Silverados and Sierras. DEF will reduce your NOx emission by a huge 63%.
That's incorrect. The DEF doesn't affect fuel mileage at all. It takes the
place of the dpf system that used to be installed to reduce emissions. The
DEF is injected into the exhaust of the engine and used to break down the
NOX emissions, it has absolutely nothing to do with how much fuel the
engine burns.
while it is cheap and I believe the science behind it as a engineer, I
still prefer models before 07 so I can just use marvel mystery oil that is
still cheaper for full tank ratios. So instead of topping off def fluid
every so often I can just mix mm oil at every fuel up in to the diesel tank.
These people just destroyed diesel engines. Drivers of these trucks are
just putting shit tons of money into these trucks that doesnt need to be
put into them. Its just more money out of the drivers pocket to buy this
dumb fluid.
hi there.. wondering if the problem went away or not? i've heard the hose
doesn't get all the way to the bottom to syphon all out. looking to do this
to my 2015.
yes, it fixed the problem. after draining and refilling you have to drive about 30-40 miles for the Check engine light to go away. I purchase extra clear plastic hose from the hardware isle at Lowes to help it reach.

Chevy Cruze Diesel Urea Injection System - What is Diesel Exhaust Fluid (AdBlue)? - ABTL Auto Extras
Most people are probably aware that the Chevrolet Cruze Diesel 4-cylinder engine produces 151 horsepower and 280 lb-ft. of torque netting 46 MPG on the ...
Why all the excitement? Seriously, have you ever test drove a new diesel vs
a gas engine. The main purpose of diesel is the feel of gas with economy of
a hybrid. The extra maintenance costs are few, being that a replacement
bottle is cheaper than 2 qts of oil. I've had our 2013 Q7 TDI and 2013
Passat TDI for a year now and personally I love passing by people refueling
twice in a week were I do it once every 2-3 weeks. I just wish the American
govt would tax diesel the same way they tax gas.
At AutoZone is about $6 a gallon or $14 for 2.5 gallons ... I just don't
understand yet that with today's technology we have to use cow pee pee to
make it smell better? I am sure there's more to it than making it smell
better or emmisions. My friend Carl and I was having a fun time on the way
home today thinking we should make a YouTube video about it. I wonder if it
would work with some other type of pee pee .... When we car pool I'm going
to pass the bottle around for donations!
In fact you're right shuffle in some part, to break even compared to a
gasoline model of the same trim would take years at least 4-5 oil changes.
That's not why you pay the upfront cost of ownership, it's the benefits
down the road. Like Spica said we lost our way to thinking about this in
the 70s, it's time to get back and I'm only 31...
Modern diesels have a track record of lasting longer than gasoline engines,
having better emissions than gasoline engines, and getting better mpg with
more torque. While gasoline engines generally get less or exactly what they
are rates, diesel engines generally out preform their rates mg by a great
amount. You miss all these facts.
If you live in the city, this car gets the same fuel economy as the regular
gas model. Actually, it gets worse than other comparable gas model cars. So
unless you do predominently highway driving, it'll cost you more to own.
Add in the premium you pay to buy the diesel version. Me thinky it ain't
worth it.
Yeah uh huh, because you're going to be getting 55 mpg combined in a car
rated at 33...don't tell me it's under rated because consumer reports
tested the fuel economy and got 22city 49hwy 33combined...sure you can get
55 mpg combined if you drive like a granny or constantly on the highway
Diesel engines use their fuel much more effective than regular gas engines.
And due to the fact that oil is a source with an end, that makes sense to
me. Europeans are much smarter about saving gas than americans are, most
americans spend no thought about that, but they should!
The average owner ship of a single car in US is about 9.5 years. For a
diesel to become economical over a decent regular gas burning car (Malibu
Eco for example), one should be driving a VW TDI for over 15 years,
GM should work with GE. GE developed the most advanced cleans diesel system
that doesn't need urea injection for heavy machinery. All GM should ask GE
is to adapt their system for cars.
