+Jay Young As I said to Michael above, I did not plan my trip there carefully and did not have plans of the area otherwise I would have explained the function of each building... the fact remains that this healing center operated since before 600BC!!

HAVE HAD MANY GOOD TIMES IN GREECE, SUNSHINE SITTING OUTSIDE EATING MOUSSAKA, KNOCKING BACK A BOTTLE OF OUZO, THE BALALAIKA BEING PLAYED BY THE OWNER, YUP MISSED THE HISTORY BUT THATS LIFE WHEN YOU ARE YOUNG.

+mike wright lol... I know and have experienced this life in Greece... by the way, the balalaika is purely a Russian instrument, what you are referring to is a bouzouki (which sounds different from the balalaika) and which is actually a Turkish or Arabic instrument called buzuk or buzuq...

Wonderful video of the remains of the ancient site in Greece of the world's largest, and most ancient, healing centre located in central Greece and known as The Asklepieion of Epidaurus (Ασκληπιείον τής Επιδαύρου). While it would have been nice to be able to view the actual buildings, considering that this site is over 2,200 years old, it is truly amazing that this site although in ruins, still exists in Greece, for people to view what is remaining of this site. I would classify this site as being the most modern medical center of its time.
