+JoeC7711 relax man it's a test run. Look up Steve Morris he built the engine. He's built the same engine for the worlds fastest street car. This guys definitely not going all out.

Ok. Top gear don't know shit about drag racing, and it said nothing about it being on a dyno. Anyway it was most likely engine dyno, witch of course you will get huge numbers but once that engine is put in a rolling chassis and hooked up to the tranny, electronics in the car it's not going to make 3000 hp. The car ran 8.11 in the quarter. X275 small block cars nitrous or single turbo are running low 7's in the quarter with stock frame rails, leaf springs, and suspension. Not taking anything away from this car, but you don't know.

Virtually all motorsport has some artificial element. Weight penalties for victories, tyres, restrictions on development, allowing cars back into rallies if they crash and needs repairs etc. When it comes to F1, the restrictions applied on that and artificial aids like DRS have done nothing to make it watchable. Now I agree that a poorly applied Balance of Performance can ruin a series. But how would dropping all regulation affect F1? It would become even more skewed in favour of Mercedes and Ferrari, helped by the ludicrous payment system in F1.

+The22yardstare It's only competitive because it's artificially balanced, though. It's as if the FIA mandated huge air restrictors and limited electric output on the Mercedes because it won too much, which is not in the true spirit of racing. But hey, the show is what's important, isn't it?Nothing against the cars, however.

+Xirage Faith The Bentley, Nissan with Godzilla, the Lambo Huracan, McLaren 650 GT3... so many good cars around. It's not just GT3 though. I've really enjoyed watching the Aussie Racing Cars this year. They're not technologically advanced but they offer some really good racing. Between the ARC, V8 Supercars, the various GT3 series, and obviously the Endurance guys, they're providing the best four-wheeled motorsport and they all make F1 look like the dull tedious horseshit that it is.

+The22yardstare I've stopped watching F1, stupid V6s, not even the calibre of V8 supercars or GT3s. Just fascinates me on the raw power and the unpredictability of such racing. When massive GTR came out few years back it was a like a racing truck in the pack, then came this Bentley school bus...
