+mr grunta just to let you know, these 5S-FE's do not like to be run with oil like this, i'm surprised this one is still going without throwing a bearing, once the pickup gets blocked by crud, and the motor starves of oil, it lets go. i owned one, exactly like this.
+Simon John Hinton you are wasting your money.. i change mine about every 10k miles or when my cars computer tells me to change it...which is roughly 10k miles.. the 3000 mile and 6000 mile oil change is a myth and was a marketing tactic from quick lube industry to get more money and return customers. my first car which was a little mitsubishi truck had over 400k miles and what killed it was someone ran a red light and broad sided me ...that engine still runs and is sitting in my shed..
Whoever is the Mr Freaking Dumb Pliers is a freaking moron. I am going to
make several assumptions hear the first is since the car is a 2002 and the
video was uploaded in 2012 the car is 10 years old with 120 kilometers on
it apx or roughly 60 thousand miles. This means that the car gets very few
though engine warm-ups which will result in top-end of the engine and
rocker cover to look the way they do including the sludge build up. As for
the cam seal failing under normal driving conditions the engine would have
sufficient milage on it to have had the timing belt to have been replaced
possible twice and in the one Toyota dealership I had worked at for a while
it was standard procedure to replace Cam, Crank, and Oil Pump Seal(s) when
replacing the timing belt. Additionally I would bet that from all of the
short trip driving I am almost 100% this car has scene that the PCV valve
and CC vent filter need to be replaced. Severe driving conditions meaning
short trips the engine oil should have been changed every 3,000 miles or 4
months and the PCV valve replaced every 7500 miles. The problem is not
that the customer did not want to take good care of his or her car but was
mistakenly under the impression that they could treat their car under the
normal driving condition maintenance schedule because after all this was
normal for them. A good indication that the car was being decently
serviced is the fact the engine coolant is nice and pink in color in the
overflow tank and the tank is clean. If the car was not getting good
service by now the overflow tank would be scummy looking and the coolant
would not be that clean looking. So put your indignation back in your
pants with your pecker and fix the customers car.
+gullreefclub I totaly agree. The "standard oil change interval" is based on "average" use of all car users. In many cases this doesn't applies. The surprising point was how clean the nocks surfaces were comparing with the cam covers. Typical for cold running motors.
I bought my wife a brand new 2013 RAV4 for Valentine's Day in 2014 as it
was used just as a shuttle car. We, like all other owners of newer Toyotas,
get the complimentary oil changes for 2 years, 25,000 miles. I believe it's
a scam. I do my own oil changes and 7500 miles because Toyota claims we can
go 10k on an oil change and that's all they recommend. They're crazy! You
can't do that many miles here in the mountains on dirt roads, because
that's where we live. Snow, salt, rain, floods, mud, hills, -15° cold
starts and hitting 90+°. Toyota oil is rebadged Mobil1 and my car and her
car is so NOISY on M1 OIL it sucks. I hate that oil! I use RP and they're
quieter, smoother, and yes, better MPG. Why, if you can go 10k on an oil
change, does the service engine light come on at 5k? It should come on at
10k. Complimentary oil changes are A joke.
+2010V6RAV4 I live in florida ...the sand pile...i went 10k between oil changes on my mitsubishi small little truck...it was 4x4 and i went offroad in it a lot ...it had 400k miles on it when someone broadsided me ..engine still ran like a clock..
Why the fuck is it so hard to just change your oil? People are so lazy,
they just drive their car and never do any maintenance or even checking
fluid levels and then when it breaks down they call it a piece of shit....
Lol dumb people
