This is most commonly done with a process server handing you papers directly at home or work. Most of the time, it's pretty quick and easy. Sometimes the person, for some reason, thinks that is they avoid being served they can get out of the lawsuit. Not true. Some people go to really crazy lengths to avoid it. Other times, it's difficult to find the person because they travel a lot or in this guys' case, have a lot of bodyguards or people who want to interfere. What he did here was really slick. Very clever. The reality is that the more you try to avoid being served, the worse you make your situation. You can make the judge angry... and if they can prove that people are trying to protect you, they can get a court order for the police to basically enter your home without permission to serve you. There's no reason for all the drama... you take the papers and handle your business.

I don't know too much about them but it's like they're documents informing you you'll be sued for something.
