Nissan R35 GT-R chasing McLaren F1 GTR at Thruxton race track

+Greg Megan Clicking paddles and deciding when to change gear means that you change it manualy. It's no difference if you change it mechanical with engaging clutch with pedal or electronically with push of a button. But its you changing it so its manual gear changing. Unless computer decides when to change then its auto.
people really think they are both driving hard on these cars when the
nissan has someone in the passenger seat not even wearing helmets.
this is an open HPDE driving event. morons. usually only 1 or 2 passing
zones and usually the driver ahead has to wave his arm or flash to let
pass. otherwise they dont pass each other.
idiots...idiots everywhere in the comments.
+Monty 4248 honestly man the ssc ultimate aero is a piece of shit. i am american and will openly admit and give credit when its due. ssc is not a good car to be proud of.watch jay lenos garage where he reviews it. you can easily tell he is not impressed at all.you can even see god awful panel gaps as if was assembled by joe schmoe in his shed which it pretty much was. built on a kit car chassis.theres very little evidence out there that SSC actually built more than 1 or 2 ultimate aeros. the same car has been painted different colors more than once. so its tough even calling them a production car.and ssc im pretty sure has folded as a company. they havent updated their website in a long time and there has been no news about the tuatara since they showed the model at pebble beach years ago. im thinking the company quietly went under.
Yes, but the first one built used a lotus Elise (i think) body. Also, how about we compare cars that have actually raced, and won. They don't have to be 240mph monsters, but they should have won Le mans, or any endurance race. Or am I making this to pointless?
I have great respect for the ultimate aero, as I have already complemented it. I cannot explain why I want the older, slower, more expensive car, but see it like this: The F1 is the Ultimate Aero of its time. If you were to ask Veyron vs Aero, I'd take the Aero over the piece of crap Veyron. (no offense to the car or its fans). Also the Areo, as far as I have seen, hasn't won or hasn't been entered in any races, although I'm sure it can be. Why hasn't anyone brought up Koenigseggs (they had built a gt1 car) or the P1 for comparison. Also, you realize that the Hennesy Vonom began its life as a Lotus, a BRITISH. Also, ford gt40 rocks! Hows that for an answer :)
+Monty 4248 the ultimate aero is faster, a lot faster, why would you buy a 20 year old peice of crap rather than one of the most advanced cars ever made? you aint no patriot.
Speed wise, yes. They are extraordinary cars. And I my self am from the US, and see these cars as pinnacles of american engineering, along side the new and old ford gt, str viper corvette z06, and the z28 (which we own). But,if I were given the choice of the Ssc Ultimate Aero or an F1 gtr, I'd go for the Mclaren. Also, why are we comparing road cars with an endurance race car? :)
The f1 as a road car is better than the Veyron. Yes, the Veyron is more expensive (I assume). Yes it is faster. But, if you talk practicality, the f1 is supreme. More storage space. Three seats instead of two. More visibility. You are more involved in the driving, manual gear box, no abs, no traction control, ya can't be stupid while having fun in the car. Your "supreme" Veyron is really heavy, and has a rep for being fast and expressive. Yes, the Mclaren as well, but it also has the most powerful naturally aspirated v12 to date. The Bugatti has four turbochargers, and goes 250? The f1 goes 240, and has none. On the track, the f1 and f1 gtr would destroy the Veyron. It's a luxury fast car, while the f1 has the ability to dominate the track. A Veyron couldn't do more than two laps around Le Mans. And the Venom GT has proven faster than that piece of crap. So, when the Veyron wins, or at the very least, completes the 24 hours of Le Mans, come back with your argument. :)
+ocufyhado9ufhursd True. Its is quite astonishing that even though the F1 is over 20 years old. Its still competes with modern day cars such as the Veyron.
+ocufyhado9ufhursd Oh come on. Give some respect to the Bugatti. The F1 is one of m favorites as well but the Bugatti Veyron is a beautiful car and is ment for luxury rather than sport. It is fat but speed isn't its main point even though people think otherwise
+Nick Magee - Brown You do realize that F1's are far rarer than Veyrons, and are worth MUCH more. Oh, and they don't look like obese ladybugs. The one and only aspect where a veyron outperforms the F1 is its top speed, which nobody has ever reached apart from the blokes trying to set records at that test track VW owns. There is no road on earth apart from that track where you could max out either car. The F1 is a classic hypercar. The Veyron is an overpowered, overpriced, redundant, hideous piece of shit which is only sought after by retarded hip hop artists.
+Nick Magee - Brown Uh...the British basically helped create Formula 1 racing, as well as GT. They created the fastest Naturally Aspirated car (to date). I am also an American but all we know is how to build Muscle cars. McLaren is basically one of the top Auto Industries in the world. Yes they only have a few road cars but that doesn't denie the fact that they have the ability to create fast ass cars.
you seem to be forgeting the mclaren was designed in the late 80's and built in 91 and the ssc was built in 2006.im sorry man....but im american and im willing to say this because its simple facts.the SSC ultimate aero is built around an ancient lambo kit car ladder and frame tube chassis. the f1 is carbon monocoque. the first road car to use an all carbon tub.....yes the mclaren f1 was built to an insane (for the time) standard...mclaren made the ssc irrelevant and obsolete 15 years before the first scc was even built.the venom uses an aluminum monocoque tub that is from lotus.mclaren are the pioneers of carbon composite single piece tub monocoque. the F1 is a carbon mono tub.lotus and mclaren literally set the performance and manufacturing standard for motorsport racing.true leaders in motorsports.every single super car on the road today owes its performance and handling to mclaren and lotus who set the bar.not to mention that 95% of all f1 teams in history are based in the UK.the pinnacle of race car engineering and technology is all based and comes from the UKin terms of technology. the ssc is about 70 years behind the F1it would be like comparing the wright brothers flyer....to a sr71 blackbird.i have a feeling i am feeding a troll here though.because every single thing you said is actually the total opposite of the truth.jaguar has not been ford owned for many years and only jag car shared a ford platform (that being the xtype/mondeo/contour)and range rover is 20 years older than the oldest escaladeas for car makers in the uk that are still realavant.aston martin, jaguar, mclaren, lotus, caterham, ariel, ascari, bentley, BAC, ford uk(seperate from ford usa) land rover, morgan, mini, mg, radical, rolls royce, lister, nobile, vauxhall
+lcracing92 yeah pal. As a fellow american you forgot about the ssc ultimate aero and hennessey venom. These all-american cars are engineering masterpeices. Far superior to that tin can. The F1 is a kit car pal built by a country that has no clue about cars and motor racing. Try and name another british car asides from Jaguar (basically a ford) and Range Rover (rip off of Escalade). No? Neither can I! God bless america.
+Vojtěch Baran veyron is a beast! A beast which has sold loads! This thing could only sell about 60 odd so which is the better car now? Also ssc ultimate aero and hennessey venom are faster.
You are an idiot! :) F1 is 20 years old supercar, without any turbo or supercharger, only pure power! And its still the fastest N/A car! An icon of the motorsport in 90's!
Shit car? It only needed a regular manual, N/A V12, 2WD, and 627 hp to go 240 mph.I didn't think a W16, 4 turbos, 1200 hp, AWD, and an automatic make a car so much better. I mean, the Gayron...er, Veyron only achieved less than 30 mph faster with "advanced" technology.
+Andrei Bondoc because it is designed for a phone/tablet it is low on their priorities maybe. I agree with you, I would like some more realistic sounds for sure
Expected no less! 10th to 3rd on Lap 1, eventual winner. We need mooar practice.
