Good to see motorsports being treated as a social sport and healthy pursuit
rather than a gratuitous spectacle and a cultural dinosaur tarred as an
environmental pariah. Two very different professionals who've succeeded in
different but very similar low odds games where numerous competitors have
extraordinary skills, but the qualities they described are what I think of
as good role models for my children. (Applause to the interviewer and his
team for extracting great interviews.)

i watch it live on shady websites. the downside being that sometimes the
commentary is in german. yeah it's a shame Joey finished last in the
championship of everybody that scored points. hopefully he'll do better
next year. i just started watching DTM this year and it seems like cracking
good racing sometimes. Leo covers alot of racing series that America
doesn't care about. The point is he's trying to make people care about them
because good racing is good racing.
What? I said I watch DTM on Speed 2 and Torrent it if I want to see it
sooner than that. I was interested to see how BMW's WTCC driver and Joey
Hand who is a Native Californian like myself would get on in DTM. But I've
been watching since it was ITC and DTM before that. regs and technical regs
are different things. Point is nobody in America cares about DTM in America
not even BMW, Benz or Audi... Google it.
Forget DTM, watch it on Speed 2 if you don't have it no soup for you. There
aren't enough DTM fans in America, I watch the German series THAT"S ENOUGH.
Not sure what Super GT and DTM have to do with this merger here. Super GT
and DTM will use the same chassis thats it.... So much for "combined regs"
Super V8 will use a common chassis, all are efforts to common parts and
save money.
Leo, remember, for every d-bag that posts his negative view, there are
probably 5 thousand of us quiet people that love the way you do your
interviews. We may not post our thoughts very often, but we'd be damned
pissed off if drive ever decided to replace you. THAT would be cause enough
for many of us to unsubscribe. Let the "verbal blow job" accusations
commence, lol.
Great edition of Shakedown. I really enjoyed the interview with CJ Wilson.
I'll be interested to follow the progression of his team over the next
couple years. It's obvious that his team has the talent to progress! In
addition to the informative news you relay, as you get the chance to do
more interviews for this series, these are the ones I really enjoy watching.
i actually like your voice Leo. But hey, english is not my native language
so maybe my ears are fucked up :) Dempsey is one of the few that will have
the Diesel LMP2 Mazda engine next year, right ? Is he coming back to Le
Mans ? I can't remember how well he did when he was there in a Ferrari. But
that wasn't his team at the time.
Good to hear! thx for that! but there is more interesting stuff than the
final 2012 alone i think. what about DTM in the US in 2013? didn't hear
anything about that lately. And also type in google:
Joint-future-for-DTM-and-Japanese-Super-GT-from-2014 it's official! Nissan,
Honda and toyota in teh dtm in 2014!
Great interview. You actually talk to the people you interview and you are
not asking the generic questions that are annoying. And the idea of
becoming a successful baseball player in order to then become a successful
race team owner/driver shows serious forethought and commitment.
Did you not notice that Race team called "Dempsey Racing"? Exactly why does
it matter whether a "Mans Man" gets interviewed? He's a race car driver and
a race team owner so pretty sure thats criteria enough for this interview,
especially since this is about "Celebrity Team Owners".
@Thomas van Esveld you know what Thomas? You picked the wrong f**king day
for this. You want to voice this opinion? Write someone at /DRIVE directly.
I can't change my voice + you're wasting your time. Thanks for busting my
balls. Feel better? Better guys than you have tried.
I don't know how you can have a problem with Leo Parente. In my opinion,
he's one of the few people that can deliver even dry information in an
entertaining way, while integrating clever remarks and loads of character.
He's one of the reasons I enjoy Drive so much.
Leo, where's the DTM love? The championship finale this past weekend was
amazing. Drivers and team championships traded hands at the last race. It
was great racing. Also, DTM and Super Gt are combining regs just like
ALMS/GrandAm
Dude used to be cool when he did some movies about how the little guy can
win the hot chick. Now day's hes just a total douche who think's he's God's
gift to the world. Another pretty boy.
Lol, Its my opinion, no need to get your panties up in a bunch.... His hand
remind me of a slick card dealer that's about to give you the slide of
hands and take your mortgage money.....
It's nice to see celebrity "car" people.. Real ones, not just ones that buy
ferrari's to have them... I agree the best is probably Eric Bana.. Works on
them.. Does targa Tasmania.. Etc
Im waiting for leo to get the BIG interview. Bernie Ecclestone!!! Now thats
gonna be classic. and for once Leo will be interviewing a guy his size or
shorter!!! NICE!!!.
