my original idea for the tiny house.
I only like this idea if you are building your house on an old moving van and dont plan to drive it. U Haul sells 35 foot trucks for around 3k, I can see buying two of ...
what up Big?! I think RV's are like living in very very low income housing.
they all have a basic floor plan, all the equipment in them tends to be
very low quality. when the roof cracks water gets into places you cant get
to. mildew and mold form. so this guy has all wood furniture, windows that
let light down into the living area but people cant look in. all the
plumbing and electronics he installs himself so he can repair anything,
everything can be moved for a new look. its individualistic.
I have a good compromise between oh-so-available standard deck chilling and
rather remote dude roof chilling. My solution is to chill on the 2nd story
deck, allowing me to look down on those passing by but yet not be so close
as to receive many unsolicited remarks. Then, should a non-fool mosey by
where there is mutual interest in a chat, it is just a matter of walking up
some stairs or talking at a higher volume. This knocks the tiny house
concept into the toilet but then I don't do tiny.
I shall google it you can be sure. I am looking down at two Caravans as we
speak and they both have cracks in the roof. my wood roof just developed
two leaks and I know just how to fix them. I love R.V.s especially the
small van like ones but I am more interested in putting in my own wiring
and plumbing. I want to know how it goes so I can fix it myself. when I was
younger I wanted cool things, now I just want things that rarely break and
I can fix them if they do.
yeah I do, i bought a wheel lock for one tire but a drunk neighbor drove
his truck into it and I have yet to replace it. I also have a lock on the
trailer hitch. the entire thing weighs several thousand pounds yet I am
sure some young vandals are already planing on moving it just to where the
road goes down hill!
I really like that idea as well, though I would get a open top trailer so I
could build my own roof. I know so many people with trailers that have
leaky tops. if my roof leaks I can just pull off some wood or better yet
put a new layer of paint on it.
the joy of the balcony! well this guy does not seem to mind the attention
he receives. he is more of a people person then I. I bet he parks there for
a week and someone will invite him to park on their land! I will be so
jealous if that is the case.
yeah thats a pretty good setup yet I just dont like the look and am glad I
did not try that style. it would be convenient if you were doing lots of
traveling though. especially if it ran on used kitchen oil.
Earl, do you ever worry about someone hitching your "tiny house" onto their
car and driving off while you're away in your car? Or even a couple of
young vandals simply wheeling it away by hand for the lols?
