This is one of the best made videos on automotive repair that I have ever
seen. For a person making a video alone, the imagery was very well done.
Jason provided outstanding description including exactly what size
fasteners were involved. The only criticism that I can make (really minor)
is that Jason did not mention that the dash indicator light are the small
white/grey/yellow items that look just like the illumination sockets that
he did point out. It just happens that it is the "check engine" indicator
that I have to replace.
Jason, thanks much for such an excellent video!

Three comments. 1: Thanks. 2: Should show how to disconnect electrical
connectors. 3: On the other hand, none of the connectors need to be
disconnected. The radio needs only to be moved out far enough to allow the
other panel members to be removed. The panel member with the light switches
can just hang. The instrument cluster, once the screws are removed, can be
moved sufficiently to allow you to remove each of the lamp holders and
replace the lamps without disconnecting any wires.
Thank you for the Video.
More of a pain in ass then my 91 Ranger was I got a 03 now. Gonna replace
all the lights with LED so I don't have to ever do it again.
This step-by-step video is excellent! It's very easy to follow and
understand the way you take your time explaining AND SHOWING the process of
where each screw is hiding. I have to remove the cluster on my 1998 f-150
to replace all of the bulbs. I wasn't sure how to go about it, but after
watching this,... I'm ready! Thank you very much for posting this.
Excellent video. Please show how to remove and install the radio w/cd on a
2002 Ford F-150 XLT 4.2. Or anything on the 4.2. That's what my wife
drives. I just changed out the HVAC Heater Pipe p/n KT-71. (Google: KT-71
HVAC)It's sits on top of the water pump. It's metal and tends to rust and
separate where the o-ring sits. The bottom part below the o-ring was stuck
in the water pump. I had to use a seal puller to pull it free. New part is
installed and no more leaks. Keep up the good work!
Very good detail. Do you know if the clear lense that covers the gauges
can be removed without pulling the entire multifunction unit out of the
dash? I need to clean the area where the gauges are due to small
debris/dust and a stinkbug that crawled in there, got stuck and died. Crazy
but true. Thanks for the video
If you unplug the cluster to replace bulbs and then reconnect the same
cluster, will the vehicle still start up as usual? Does unplugging the
cluster require any further programming or will it remain the same and
start right up?
I have a 2006 Mountaineer. All the light and gauges work on the cluster
however the odometer section will not display properly. It looks like the
code from the Matrix movies. lol. Do you think that could be a bulb or
wiring issue? I was going to remove the cluster to investigate but if it is
nothing that I could service then to a dealer I will go. Thanks
I have a 2010 explorer and there's dirt or something, on the inside of the
glass , if i follow all these steps can i remove the glass or is it glued
to the black plastic ? I have to clean the inside glass im pretty sure its
the inside
No I haven't im just waiting to i have 300$ to remove and replace lol well that's just the cost for the plastic/glass it's plastic tho. It dosent bug me to much but if I get achance i will replace it
