+Lelio Martinez I suggest if you're only concerned with "steps," stick with a FitBit. I use the FitBit HR daily. It calculates Steps, Calories, Distance, Heart Rate, Flights of Stairs climbed, Quality of Sleep, and displays Time & Day.I use the Garmin 225 for running. As a woman, I think the 225 is too large to use for daily wear and it doesn't go with any of my office outfits!
+DRUNKDONKEY100 I believe you can set up Auto Lap under Activity Settings to 1 mile and "each time you complete one mile a message appears that displays time for that lap." (From 225 manual.) I just got the 225 and still trying to figure out how to use it.
Hey guys! If you decide you want to buy the FR225, please consider
purchasing through my good friends at CleverTraining.com. They really help
support me and I could not do what I do without them (AND YOU). Thanks so
much! Here's the link: //goo.gl/8HGnsf
+Stephen Murphy Jeff, I made a decision, based on your latest video on the tomtom spark, and bought that one - cost £165 + shipping, hope I chose right! Great videos, very knowledgeable - thanks
+RizKnows Could you please recommend a watch that can track weight lifting, running and possibly accurate heart rate monitoring ? I work out at gym so do not need super good outdoor features. Thank you !
Great review - and i'm just about ready to buy one of these after unloading
my FR220 and FitBit Charge. BUT, I saw it on display at a store over the
weekend, and I'm curious about how that HRM feels against the wrist. It
didn't seem very smooth, and it's elevated off your wrist (or at least it
looks like it is) with the rubber gasket around the bottom of the watch.
Curious about what you thought of the contact feel on your wrist? Thanks!
+Nikoletta Gombás Agreed. I got mine a few days ago, and LOVE it. Can't wait for the nighttime trail 10k tonight! It's also great to have a step tracker on board, in addition to the other great features. Love the looks of it, too.
Jim, do I need to pair the watch with the chest strap? Also for some reason
I keep getting error message for polar flow app. Service is down. Thank you
for your help.
+Eric Benjamin It's the one band that I didn't sell and kept. Still using personally myself. =) Battery life is BEAST on this thing. GPS helps big time. I like it a lot.
+Eric Benjamin Yup, if you have a chest strap, you do need to pair it right before you start your run/workout. Polar App's is working for me. Hope that helps!
+sunshine83 Chest strap is needed for the HR monitoring. Calories will be estimated, but when you're using the chest strap, it appears to calculate a bit more accurate. Feel free to add me on ( www.facebook.com/JimsReviewRoom or www.twitter.com/JimsReviewRoom or www.instagram.com/JimsReviewRoom )
Great review and convinced me to buy the device. Very professionally done
but with one flaw: some words misspelled. (For example, "continous" instead
of "continuous", "consistant" instead of "consistent" -- this last one
several times.) Correct that and your reviews would be even better.
Hey, I just wanna know if I can use this watch for swimming. I dont know if
the chest strap is water proof. If not, can the watch measure the calories
without it when swimming?
Thank you
+Felipe Materon Yup, you can wear the band for swimming. The H7 chest strap which is the one I'm using can be used in the pool. Just wear it snugged so water doesn't cause lost contact with the skin. Polar says : Transfers heart rate information while swimming with products which support 5kHz transmission (The m400 watch will work of course)
Garmin fenix 3 vs. vívoactive | REVIEW | Best GPS Watch
HUGE DISCOUNTS on Garmin Products!!! //goo.gl/ew29Dy Garmin vívoactive review and garmin fenix 3 review. Both are GPS Sportwatches and activity ...
Humm, I will NOT pay 2x for the Fenix only because it has a native strength
training app ;-)... Of course one can track HIIT under the disguise of
indoor running or the likes and then rename it online.
+Mathias Rhein This was my concern too, I don't understand why we can't have a genearlised heart rate tracking option as a feature. Why do we HAVE to track our heart rate in a specific type of workout?
thanks for taking the time to respond. I was going to go with the apple watch but decided to wait until the 2nd Gen. I love the look of the fenix 3 but wonder if I would use it even to 20% of its capability. So, I've gone with the charge HR for now, fenix 3 will be next.
Hello from Spain Riz, i have a question. which of those devices is better
to control the speed i run in real time ( for example 5:00 per mile ) ? I
have to pass several tests for my job, and i need to run 1 km in 4:00, so i
am interested in a device that let me see the real speed i run and then
maintain it.
Thank you so much for your videos and for your work.
Saludos desde España !
+Sergio Rodríguez Thanks for watching! Both are likely equal in their estimation of speed, though I would recommend you get a device that pairs with a shoe pod for best cadence and speed readings.
Good video, I wish I would have watched your video first so I would have
learned about syncing to a video frame the first time around.
I want to add the overlay to the entire video and export and then I use
Lightworks to trim down to shorter clips. The GoPro breaks a 1hour ride
into 4 parts so when I upload each part into Virb Edit the map only shows
for 1/4 of the whole ride. Do you know of a way around this? I want to see
the whole loop for the map not just a piece of the loop. I'm not seeing any
settings and there is a 4Gig export cap so I'm thinking it can't be done in
this application.
