68-70 BILLION! Why would you ask less wealthy states to help Ca. pay for
something like that? Just raise taxes again, I'm sure californians would
not mind. Don't ask me, I don't live there, and I have no interest in
paying for a bullet train I will never see.

Darrell Fong on affirmative action
Sacramento city councilman Darrell Fong talks to the Sacramento Bee about whether California should reinstate race-conscious university admissions.
Darrell Fong is interestingly complex.
During the Primary I supported Darrell because I thought to myself “there’s
a true leader, who doesn’t just follow the pack, but carves out his own
path.“
I set aside what many viewed as a skewed view (
//video.fox40.com/Voter-Offended-by-Campaign-Potholder-26100929#.VE75ZIvF8sw)
on how to gain women’s support and encouraged my female friends to vote for
him anyway.
Yet the final straw was when I went on-line to make a donation to Darrell
and I noticed besides the “Democratic Clubs” tab he has removed every
reference to him being a Democrat on his page. Now I can understand being
upset about losing the endorsement to Cooper, but if you’re supported by
the California Federation of Teachers, California Labor Federation,
AFL-CIO, California School Employees Association, California Teachers
Association, and SEIU California, it’s pretty damn obvious you’re a
Democrat!
This “whatever it takes to win” attitude concerns me from someone who has
gone from Democrat to Independent. I’m just wondering at this point if
tomorrow he’ll be a Republican?
