How to INSTALL a SCREW into a WALL (anchor) drywall
Welcome to another video, this time it's about how to put a screw in a wall. If you want to hang a painting, some light shelving a guitar hanger, this how to video is ...
Thank you SOOOOOO much! I did it!!! I had one wall that must have
something really hard or thick and that one I couldn't do. But I did do it
and thank you so much! I am (was?) a tool idiot! I wish they taught girls
Shop as well as Home Ec when I was in school....
+Mia Hess You probably hit a stud. (usually a 2x4 solid wood, behind the drywall). Those are more work than worth your time if you're screwing in screws by hand.

I already put in the anchor, but I did not leave the screw in to tighten
it. I put the anchor in, placed my hanger over it, and put in the screw. It
didn't tighten...I didn't know what was wrong, so I just left it and
assumed I did something wrong. Can I remove the hanger, put the screw in
and do what you did, or is it too late? So what I'm asking is, can I
restart the process once the anchor is already in? lol. (this might sound
very stupid to you, but i'm very new at this haha. Thank you!!!!!!
+TheClashyyy It might work, it might not- depending on whether the board has been skimmed with plaster or not. If you want to be certain you should use the setting tool, which will work every time- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mpcer0QzW8
+Ultimate Handyman Needed to mount a TV on the wall and only had 1 horizontal stud to support the top of the mount, so used 4 of these in the drywall to support the bottom. Didn't have a clue how to use them and your video really helped!
I wish I had seen this BEFORE I tried to hang my new curtain rods on
paneling :/ Then I talked to my son who said I need molly screws. I always
DO this! I do stuff THEN I find out how later! You'd think I would learn
after 61 years, RIGHT???!!! NO. So now I have the hardware up there on the
wall, with screws that are LOOSE and I can't hang my new curtains. ARG! I
once made a toy box for my kids, 2' by 4'. Imagine that. It was so HUGE I
couldn't get it OUT of the room! Hahaha!!! My husband was a fisherman who
went away to Alaska for months on end so I did all the household repairs
and such and I did fine with regular stuff. I even changed spark plugs and
can change oil and a tire. But hang a new CURTAIN ROD??? OMGosh I am so
irritated!
sure! That toy box! My husband got a good laugh out of it! I have to set the curtain rod above the actual window frame because I want to cover up the WHOLE window with my curtains. My windows are set lower than regular windows. Anyway, I went to Amazon and bought a box of molly screws you hammer into the wall because I don't have a drill. I never thot of adding a board. I was up WAY too late looking at all the stuff a person can use to fix things. Mt father was a carpenter and I watched him do a lot, but since I was a girl in the 60's it never occurred to him to teach me stuff. I learned out of necessity . I love messing with tools and such. Thanks for your informative videos! I subscribed! :)
+Miss Robin Martz Sometimes in the UK we fix a piece of timber above the window, such as 2 inch by one inch and then fix the curtain rail to that, you could probably do that using different fixing holes and just leave the loose ones where they are. It' often best if you use the setting tool for these as some brands do not grip as well if you use the technique shown in this video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mpcer0QzW8I hope this helps ;-)I'd love to have seen you trying to get the toy box out LOLThanks for the comment
