Well that's a new one for me!....I must remember to mention this at the
local public house....I could do with a couple of days in hospital to get
away from the missus nagging.

I have schizotypal personality disorder. After age 19 or 20 it started
"going south" and now, at age 24, I'm basically no longer human. I never
ever leave my house (I haven't even gone to the mailbox in over 2 months)
and don't ever meet anyone besides my father with whom I live, I sleep on
different hours every day, never shower or eat unless I'm told to and I
don't have the motivation to do much at all. My hair and beard have grown
very long too. It's gotten to the point where I think the anime I watch
looks more real than what I see when I look out my window.
I really hope you can get through this, I mean it. Personally I wasn't able
to become functional but I believe if you're strong enough you probably
can.
+Sad Weeaboo Loser i hate this disorder so much!!i also have social anxienty and depression i have pranoia too and im so sick of it i never raised my hand in school at all for two years straight i also believe we have powers there are powers and i feel like im getting watched over night so i sleep with covers over my head
+Sad Weeaboo Loser you can get through this too :). your to young to give up. i have the same problem and know how hard it is to live that way, have to fight every day.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm sorry such a sweet person has to struggle
with hallucinations, anxiety, and depression. I met someone at a restaurant
who had schizotypal PD once and really enjoyed listening to her speak -
it's like she had a way of turning life into art that was kind of
refreshing - like "the penis of apology" lol. You've got that same vibe and
you should always give yourself "artistic license" because I can tell
you're also interesting that way. May the white magics bless you and
protect you Darien.
+viperzerofsx I looked online for some SPD message boards - and there are a few - but they are pretty sparse. I suppose someone could set up a place online for SPD's to share experiences. A youtube channel might work except that it would need mods to block trolls...
+viperzerofsx Looks like most are in Massachusetts - lot of creative people there :)//www.textmed.com/heatmaps/disease/schizotypal-personality-disorder-us-heatmap.gif
Are you sure you have Schizotypal PD as they don't usually have
hallucinations especially as severe as seeing demons and dead people. Have
you talked to your Psychiatrist about schizophrenia because the intensity
and life long pattern of visual hallucinations accompanied with blurring of
reality is a sign of Schizophrenia but then how have you made it through
life without being diagnosed with severe psychosis? I don't wanna sound
like I don't believe you and even if I didn't it shouldn't matter, its just
I'm a mental health professional and felt the need to ask
+jim hayes i am questioning the same, jsut studying abnormal psychology and she sounded like she fit all the symptoms for schizotypal until she said she saw demons. Should could be hallucinating from lack of sleep and then there theres the possibility she was misdiagnosed by someone who is not registered or liscensed
No its not uncommon to have transient auditory hallucinations, I guess I should of phrased my question/point clearer but long term severe visual (seeing dead people) I have never came across that given I only manage patients not diagnose but I know enough to have an educated opinion and what I wanted to say 1st but didn't is I see Social anxiety/Borderline PD here and the STPD is a Factitious Disorder.
+jim hayes yea its not unheard of for people with STPD to have hallucinations, I never did but some do, its just less common and more manageable then schizophrenia
+jim hayes Not trying to be rude or anything, but as a mental health professional I'm sure you know what DSM and ICD says about this? Especially in ICD, it says the last criteria listed that hallucinations can happen.By the way, I'm also diagnosed with Schizotypal PD, with various hallucinations.
