The thirteenth and final track of One Hot Minute. Flea wrote most of the song and lyrics, it is about their friend River Phoenix. Very creepy, but once you get used ...
Anyone reading this should check out dark blood River Phoenix was awesome
in it. It's really the only one of his movies other than stand by me I ever
saw.
+Ashley Perez I looked up that both songs are from 1991 albums, and both released as singles in 1992...so I don't know who copied who if so? or maybe any similarities are just coincidence?Also...on the internet it says that Jack Irons was the founding drummer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and later left to join Pearl Jam.
+Anna Super yeah, it's not much at all, ha-ha. still super sweet, though. there's such a finite amount of footage of river out there since he died so young. it all counts!
+Lindsey Baines stupid question... when was he in this vidoe? Is basically just the band being weirdos. I am a fan of RHCP, too, which is why I wanted to see River on this.
@starkiller664 oh, can you identify the brown one in this video? It looks
like a boss octave pedal but he never used an octave pedal.
watch?v=YQ3CPtm7Qy0 Just delete watch?v=7L3orADPGFQ out of this url and add
this ^
looks like River standing at back 7 secondsin with a stripey tshirt on
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give It Away subtitulado en español
Give it away NOW!
Estuvo de gira con ellos desde 2007, de hecho en un concierto cuando estaba
aún Frusciante en la banda, salio derrepente con la guitarra Josh dando
pasitos de baile xd
@ TheRiffyPeat - lol...wow, I've seen youtube tiffs before...people have
cursed, promised to inflict bodily harm, they've ignored, and threatened to
report...but never have I seen the harassed go to the extent of actually
accepting defeat by admitting they were deleting their account. Normally, I
would say that's a little fucked up, but judging that the comment
originally made was offensive enough to be removed by the author, chances
are they probably had it coming. Great song :)
ohm is a great album. its funny how people think that this album doesnt
sound like rhcp. i cant believe ppl dont see that dave was trying to play
like the chili peppers (sort of like how when john joined the band he was
playing like hillel). if you listen to janes addiction the guitar sounds
nothing like how he plays on ohm. of course theyre style is gonna change a
bit, but this album is funky as ever.
okay, i love river phoenix. i think he was a great musician and actor, but
taking drugs was his own desicion. i'm assuming that you didn't know him
personally, so how can you really say that flea is responsible? i'm pretty
sure he didn't use any method of torture to get river into drugs. hating
someone because of your own prejudice and assumption is actually pretty sad.
@Lundahlium I personaly like this song the way it is. (I mean studio OHM
version). I like this extreme switch. From dreamy, light rock to
psychodelia. Like heaven and hell. (In a good way). Beautiful song, great
record. But hey what do you expect? That´s RHCP. They never dissapoint.
@waluigithecool2 Now that I remember, I read that he was friend with the
peppers and also johnny depp if I'm not wrong, and that they were playing
this song coincidently when he died? I don't know, I don't remember but it
was something like that. Well, I'll wikipedia for a while...
@psychonavigator You didn't understand me.. In "TRANSCENDING" plays
Navarro, not Frusciante but in this photo we can see Frusciante.. That is
another era.. Personally speaking I prefer John Frusciante, he's my
INSPIRATION. Check my song and then wrote this shit, ok?
@psychonavigator OHM is never played because john refuses to play the
songs. 'Its like someone else is fucking your girlfriend' is how he
described it. OHM was a Flea based album - even though it was navarros only
appearance, he wasn't speaking much on the album.
it was wrote about river that is why so rare to find live versions, flea
and river were like brothers although and it is just imo that while filming
my own private idaho thats when river started the drugs with flea who had a
small part in the film
Yeah your exactly right. I got Hot Life a few months ago on ebay. It is the
same version of transcending as the one posted here. Hot Life is an amazing
bootleg probably my favorite and I have a good collection of them.
They actually played it six or seven times live check the 1995 european
tour they played it at most of the shows on that shorter tour. This is an
amazing song from an amazing album.
@medicinalsnowball i agree he plays guitar really nice espec on this song
but it stays a fag for trying to change rhcp and he is still nothing
compared to johnny :)
