We love any seafood bisque, but crab is our favourite. It's definitely
worth getting a good quality crab meat. I've made it before, but I've never
blended the ingredients before cooking.... How convenient. I'm always
excited to use my vitamix. Great idea, Lynn. Have a fab Tuesday! Love,
Julia

+Julia Dickson Glad you like the recipe, Julia! Crab is my favorite seafood as well. Can't beat a good crab cake. I appreciate you watching and hope you are having a great week. The Vitamix is one of my favorite kitchen things. ;-) Love, Lynn
+Cindy Sa I didn't want the crab to be pureed. I preferred to have the chunks in the soup. You can make soup in a Vita-Mix, and I have done that before. It works great. ;-)
This type of otago crab has not only sand but mud under the shell that will
taint the taste of the finished product, these crabs are cheap and are used
for training hence the washing of the meat. The students are shown how to
dress and clean other types of crab without washing out. These vids are
more for our students assessments than the general public. Thanks for your
comment though. Cheers Steve
@sintiow Hi, these otago crabs are full of sand, if we don't wash them well
the guest will get a mouthful of grit, we use these crabs just for that
reason, to make sure the students in our cookery programmes prepare them
properly, I wouldn't say the chef doesn't know what he's doing, maybe you
should find out the facts before making random comments
ive checked this damn recipe far and wide on the internet and everything
seems lumpy and way too much work. is there an easier solution? I have 3
big hungry navy seals to feed. .
Chef Charlotte proves that delicous, creamy Crab Bisque in fifteen minutes can be done. Follow these simple instructions and enjoy your rich and tasty soup ...
No kidding, boiling a live animal is cruel, but slowly heating one up to
boil is extra cruel with several more minutes of suffering involved. Im
guessing that you dont know better. Please kill it first ok? Your
reciped looked awesome and I plan to try it... minus the brutality.
yeeaah, bring the water to a boil before putting the live sea food in the
water, not only is it less cruel, but the meat comes out with a better
texture... other than that, looks dope!
