I'm a girl, and I have a male best friend. When he had a girlfriend, she didn't have a problem with me being his best friend. Then again, I had known her before they started dating, so I think that helped.

Girls, if your boyfriend has a girl BFF, watch out. Especially if the girl is cute or, if they've been friends for less than 5 years. Chances are, he wants to date his bff.

#notallmen are total shit bags, thank fuck. If I actually believed what you wrote, I'd have missed out on two of the most fulfilling friendships (my bff and his gf who is becoming a new bff) in my life. Life isn't a vs. mode. We're talking team co-op, ftw! Being jealous of people your bf cares about means you didn't have anything in the first place and it wasn't going to last anyway. If your boyfriend has to get rid of his friends to be with you, you're a straight up awful, insecure, needy, nasty person or just flat out dating the wrong one for you. So what if at one point he wanted to date his bff? He wasn't paused before he met you. Your significant other will be attracted to other people; sometimes even close with them. Get over it now. It will help you forever. He chose you, so be confident in that choice. It doesn't mean nothing.I'm not saying people don't cheat. They do, and statistically quite often. It's not something you can "protect" yourself against by hyper-vigilance though. It's fucking dopey to think anything you could do will stop someone who is determined to cheat on you. That is actually the way to drive someone away. All anyone can do is be confident with what they've got, and appreciate others for who they are. Jealousy just makes you look like a less viable option. If you're jelly, get the fuck outta my sandwich. I ain't got time for no jelly.Basically, please, nobody listen to this dude. He's stuck in an 50's greaser flick. You can live with me in the 21st century, if you want to. Come. Let us be whole and confident together. It's so much nicer than being insecure, hateful and jealous. I swear.
