CHUWI VI8 Dual OS Windows 8 / Android 4.4.4 - Review
Update: the tablet is sold. Thanks! The only reason i sold this tablet is because I am saving up to get a new laptop, the tablet is really great, for the money you ...
Hey
I updated to windows 10
I do not have any place in windows 10 OS
I do not know what to do I can not install any software or game from SD CARD
What can I do to get more space?
Hi ive recently orded a chuwi tablet after watching your vidio, i was
wundering can u use the sd card slot to increase your memory ie for apps an
games or is it just for pics an vidios an the like? I would be greatful for
any info on this
Can you make a video where your opening miscrits its a game on facebook if
you do that i would apriciate it soo much and i might donate some money to
you :)
I would NOT suggest loading office unto these small tablets. Its a huge
program and unless you absolutely need it don't. You can always use
Google Docs which is free and cloud based. Second you can add more system
memory with the SD card with a registry hack for Windows.
Its easy to partition half the card as NTFS and the second for FAT so the
Android install can see it. Although officially it only supports 32gb
cards a 64gb should work.
+A. Lawrence i went and followed the instructions listed on that link you posted regarding the default installation of apps to a Micro SD Card, unfortunately, that causes error messages when installing apps to the SD card when it comes to Windows 8.1 . apparently, its an ongoing issue that hasn't been resolved yet. What Windows version do you have for this to have worked? also, what procedures did you use to partition your SD card? i've looked up different ones online, but they seem to be for other purposes that aren't specific to Dual OS tablets. Any suggestions? thanks again!
+Moses PreforI don't own the CHUWI but I own other tablets. Curious that your phone is doing that. Try moving a app you don't need to the sd. Personally I would avoid buying the units that come from China. Some like the Telecast look cool and have great screens but if you have a problem getting help is near impossible.Unless you are a very tech savvy person stick with bigger brands that you can buy in a store. //www.microcenter.com/search/search_results.aspx?Ntt=windows+tablets
I've had decent luck with a few Chinese tablets but quality can be spotty. Also know that odds are you will never be able to use another more current Android version. No custom roms for example. I don't want to discourage you as this unit is under $150.00 so its not expensive. //www.aliexpress.com/item/Original-CHUWI-Vi8-8-0-Windows-8-1-Tablet-PC-1280-800-IPS-Intel-Atom-Z3735F/32256175046.html?aff_platform=aaf&sk=iQvNfeyRv%3A&cpt=1433703774145&aff_trace_key=33028266071682612
+A. Lawrence I have tried that method with my android phone (Samsung galaxy S3) but i still always get that "Insufficient Storage Available", even though i have like 1.5GB left! :(I'm afraid that i will have the same issue with this tablet if i buy it.Also why does it has to be a class 6 or 10 card? :ODo you have this tablet, if so, how much storage space do you have left?
+Moses PreforIt would be seen as part of the system and apps could be placed there. Android allows users to do the same. You could partition the card half NTFS and the second FAT 32 or EXT 4 which are readable by Android.Remember the card needs to be class 6 or 10 which is slower then the built in memory but still okay. //www.howtogeek.com/114667/how-to-install-android-apps-to-the-sd-card-by-default-move-almost-any-app-to-the-sd-card/Its easier under Android then Windows as Windows requires some system file work.
+A. Lawrence So you mean that if i buy an SD card (let say 64GB) i can use that to be my main harddrive instead of the built in? Does this works for Android too? Because Android ALWAYS have the problem with the "Insufficient Storage Available"...
+locoloc4sho //www.howtogeek.com/136404/how-to-install-windows-store-apps-to-an-sd-card-or-another-drive/Format the card to NTFS and follow the directions. Partition the card first. The first partition should be FAT 32 and second is NTFS.FAT 32 is readable by Android and NTFS will be seen by Windows. The card will be FAT 32 by default. This may sound like gibbirish but if I can do it anyone can.
+La Casserole lol no shit avast sucks assmaybe also tell me to disable user account control and firewallbtw next time don't fucking complain about space limitations if it can use micro sd
+A. Lawrence Office comes preloaded in the tablet. But its up to you to keep it or not. I kept it because I have free space. BUT the one thing NOT TO INSTALL is an antivirus. I installed Avast Free Antivirus and that program took away 8GB by itself. I uninstalled it to win space
Cube iWork8 3G Dual OS - Android Hands on
Taking a look at Android on the Cube iwork8 3g dual os. I got the tablet from here: //s.click.aliexpress.com/e/JIQRRnIAI Note that to get Play store working ...
Thanks so much for the review. I enjoy your videos. I look forward to them
when they are out. May I request a confirmation on this particular tablet.
Can it play modern combat 5? And can this get root access? It's actually a
deciding factor for me. Root is very important for the programs and
modifications. And can this run kodi fluently aka xbmc.
Looking forward to your response. I'm in the market for a new tablet. I'm
not sure if this one is powerful enough. I own a Samsung note 3 and I'm
very accustomed to the performance. I need something close too or better in
my quest for a new tablet.
+TechTablets.com hi. I'm wondering how you have come along with root. I see there are some custom roms with root on bbs.51cube.com. but the translation is poor. I Can't follow it.
+TechTablets.com thanks for your response. I'm very excited to know the result of rooting the iwork8 tablet. I do belive it may work with kodi as it almost similar to an s3 in specs (crossing fingers). Best of luck rooting. The moment I hear of your rooting success is the day I'll buy this tablet. I've looked all over google and nothing definitive since this is fairly new. I've also heard that cube is aware of the bug with there 3g windows issue and will be resolved in there second batch.
+azndrifter204 Hi, I will try and root it and let you know. I haven't bothered with root as I didn't need it for review purposes. It will play Modern Combat 5, but it does lag heavily during some areas and maps. MC5 is a very heavy game and it even lagged on my Surface Pro 3.
Sir,i just order the original Cube iwork 8 dual boot(no 3g) just a couple
day before.(still not arrive yet).i still have`t decide what SD card i want
to buy...can it run more then 32gb?can it run SDXC type or just SDHC?Help
me decide please..
+Marco Lancaster According to purchasing website: By Chris Jul-27/2015 12:07:56Question:Hi,will this be able to be upgraded to Windows 10 when it is released?Reply:Hi,Chris! Yes,the item can be upgraded to Windows 10 when it is released.
Depending on the review, I may import this myself. $100 is not much at tall
and I love the concept. I'm just hoping for 2 Facebook of ram and I'm sold.
It's $93 currently. It does have 2gb of ram. I'm impressed on how fast and smooth windows 8.1 runs on it. Just for the Windows experience alone is amazing!
The ips display is really impressive. I've been watching Netflix on this little beast and I tell you, it looks so good. I've never seen such a cheap tablet have such a great display. Windows 8.1 runs smooth on this. Dare I say smoother than android, I think yes
What would you recommend? A chinese tablet like this or a tablet from the
more reliable brand such as sony, toshiba, acer from the local multi media
store?
And what about the rumor that these genuine versions of windows are full of malware? And i'm looking for a tablet which can run my electrical drawing programs and other programs such as sketchup. Are these tablets suitable for that?
thanks for this.. trying to get both. mostly because you did all the hard
work already with the review and testing.. keep up the great work mate!
You should make "favorite tablet" video every 6 months? or 3 months? How
often do they refresh the models?
+s2pid To often! I will do it every 6 months or so.
X98 Pro Dual OS Android Hands On And Benchmarks
After I recorded this video I notice that the rom has sleep issues and uses up too much battery. It's clearly a beta rom for now. Where to buy the factory dual OS ...
+eight715 A normal usb hub probably wouldn't work since the power output of one usb is pretty low thats why there are two for portable hard drives normally. If you had a powered USB hub it should work fine :)
I have a head scratcher of a question. Some of tablets (possibly all) of
the x98 airs come with a total of 64GB storage... some for windows, some
for Android... is there a way to simply remove Android and leave windows as
the main OS? Would that, in turn, increase the storage for windows?
+Barky Von Schnauzer You'll need a partition manager and know which ones are necessary for Windows, delete the unecessary ones and merge them into the main one.You need to know what you're doing but it's totally worth it. I can't see what's the appeal on android when you have a proper OS.Google "remove android partition x98"
Would you still recommend smth like Teclast X98 Air 3g/Chuwi over this one
for general daily win 10 use (almost no gaming at all) ? (considering
battery life and overheating issues)
+santos Ventura Yes model like the X98 Air III have just Android //www.banggood.com/Teclast-X98-Air-III-Intel-Z3735F-1_83GHz-9_7-Inch-Android-5_0-Tablet-p-998596.html?p=QZ14021624945201505Y
