03.28.15 MonsterReview: A $74.00 HO Intermountain BNSF Autorack
I ALWAYS uncheck dumb ass Ad options in my videos BTW and I just did so with this one too!* Please do not read into my video like there is a hidden message.
Did you get this autorack from Action Hobbies Kingsville?
I have a few of these and they all have warped panels. Was considering on
getting more but for $96.00 US, I'll pass.
+nawrock I got it from some seller on Ebay from Canada. I do not remember the name of the seller or company. If that is what was in the video then, yes.
Al, I cringe paying $40 for a freight car, JESUS H you know who! $75 for a
Autorack and on sale too!! You know they talk about getting teenagers
involved in the hobby, if I was a teenager and could afford $75 and up
train cars. Not so sure I'd be into model trains, you dig? I'd prolly be in
the porn industry, ha ha! Man, glad when I got into the hobby all this
super expensive shit didn't exist, I can remember feelin' like a fatcat
Mo'Fo when I bought my first brass engine. I paid $400 for it, maxed out my
credit card and everything!
+2toady Ha! great! I remember when I bought my brass engine, it was a OMI UP Dash 8-40W the 5,00th Dash 8 model. I paid about $350 for it and I was so happy. I had to add lights to it because it was made in 1987 and had crystal for the headlights and no ditchlights. My second Brass engine was a bit more at $715 and it was a 2005 or 2007 run SD70ACe #8324. What a great feeling I had when i got that engine.
I have about 4 of them, and the metal sides are bent on all of them. If you
run them mixed in with some Walthers ones, it's not that noticeable. The
doors open, but you have to be super careful with them.
I wondered that! I thought I was breaking it. So the doors do open up. There were no instructions in the box to tell you that the doors open up and how to open them up. shame. I guess we are just supposed to know that.
+NW Ohio Trains The WHOLE hobby is getting too damn expensive. Steam engines in the $400 - $500 range and Diesel's in the $200 - $300 RANGE - fucking ridiculous.
I used to think that the riding scale live steam trains were the most expensive to build. Not anymore, the stuff I run in the garage costs just as much now! Actually, my steam engine is cheaper to build than my model railroad in the garage.
