2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 running after hurricane sandy
last year I worked on this 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8 that was purchased at a salvage auction. In this video we finally got the motor (witch was full of salt ...
Wow. There's a ton of these cars out there, that were supposed to be
completely scrap'd. Instead a good number of shady ass places, sold them
off. :-/
+Erik Luyten Because they aren't safe to drive. They may appear to be in one piece with no dings, but when all the innards have been submerged in salt water for hours, that results in a lot of corrosion that isn't immediately visible. And over the years, consumers have been demanding electronically controlled windows, door locks, trunk openers, etc... there's a circuit in almost every part of a modern car, and touching that with salt water will be catastrophic. If these cars even manage to start after the flood damage (and most of them can't), they'll likely break down very quickly. Or worse, what if they get into accidents and safety systems didn't kick in because electronics were fried? Maybe in poor countries the buyers won't care so much about safety systems, but they definitely care about having a car that WORKS because they can't afford to go to the dealer service centre every month. Repairing the flood damage would require you to completely tear apart the car and replace a shit ton of components, in which case you might as well manufacture a fresh one from the assembly line. Crushing the cars and reusing raw materials is a better use of time and money.
I wish they could donate me an suv so I can continue my volunteer work in
Florida of breeding bitches who desire to have intelligent children....
send me a message if you require my free services, by appointment only....
for good looking white ladies only....
Those cars are flooded. They can malfunction during operation cause lose control and wreck, and even deploy air bags. Killing you when you wreck. Is that what your willing to put you or your family through?
nut jobs take the parts or give the car to someone who wants it or need it.
They look like they run and it looks like there is NOTHING WRONG nice job
people could have used these nut jobs
+hayden lamoureux In poor countries, people usually buy old Japanese cars (i.e. Land Cruisers from the 90s and 90s) that didn't suffer this sort of salt water damage. Yes, a brand new car that got written off by flood damage is worth just as much, but no one's buying it if it doesn't start, and even if it starts, it better damn well run problem-free for the next decade with minimal maintenance or else it won't sell. And when 99% of the electrical components got fried by salt water, that's not gonna happen. The repairs required to get the car to start and run for a long time (not even considering the repairs to electronic safety systems) would require you to basically tear apart and rebuild every nook and cranny at which point you might as well manufacture a new car.
+TouchyBanana I find it funny how I own a 2012 Honda Accord what was flooding and i can say i rather not own it. It has only 8k miles but Gas cap light is stuck on 24-7 . USB failed and AUX jack failed. Dome light Failed and metal some parts of the car such as the metal rails the seat are on are crusted with white stuff off the meta;
if they tried to fix it to make it run, it'd cost more than the new price of the car and it's just too damn expensive to do it and some cars were salt water damaged from Sandy and those definitely had to go to the scrap
having a flood car is the top reason you dont buy it everything will rust and all safy equipment can go off at any time or your car just kills you. Its better to scrap them VS trying to make them run.
Hurricane Sandy Sinks HMS Bounty, 14 Rescued from Ship Amid 'Perfect Storm'
One person has died and another still missing after the tall ship was caught in rough waters.

The safest place for a large vessel in a hurricane is NOT in the harbor. It
is out to sea! ...and heading away from the dangerous semi-circle, of which
no one seems to know except the few seafaring folks around....sorry state
of affairs.... ..go get your USCG captains license, before you make stupid
comments, or comments that make you look really stupid. Stay away from
friggin' hurricanes, unless you want to see where the love of god goes,
when the waves turn the minutes to hours.
I'm so sorry to hear this news and will not judge why or what happened.
What I do know is that my prayers go out to the families of those lost. I
loved to see that beautiful wood boat in St. Pete when it visited our
harbor and it did so much good in the area. What an awesome sight to see a
"tall ship"!! Not something you see every day. She and the crew taught
history, fellowship and the hardships of sailing in the old way. God Bless
those that gave their lives for the HMS Bounty.
Decisions to sail in modern times should not be the total discretion of one
man (The Captain). Sailing along the edge of a Hurricane in the hope of
getting from A to B is a poor risk assessment at best and puts people at
extreme risk. In this case poor decision making that cost the man in charge
of the vessel the ultimate price and that of one of his crew.
Totally unnecessary.
Dont understand..what was staying on the ship going to do for saving
it..Massive Hurricane coming and it wasnt headed south or north to a port
to dock...Captain goes down with the ship instead of getting in the rescue
wraft..sounds like some lets feed the bear, play with alligators we can
ride out a 1000 mile storm on a wooden ship bs..
You always walk around with your stupid hanging out like that? Wooden
vessels have life spans in the hundreds of years, quite unlike the plastic
tubs of today. Never heard of osmotic blistering did you? Like lots of
other things you don't know. Keep your filthy mouth to yourself, will you?
Moc mě mrzí ztráta HMS Bounty byla to nádherná loď,vím že posádka dělala
vše pro záchranu plachetnice a má mojí úctu.Bůh ochranňuj duše Claudene
Christian a kapitána Robina Wallbridge.Hurricane Sandy byl důstojný
soupeř.Věřím že postavíte novou HMS Bounty.
i think captain america suit is better than that survival suit. it gives
them power/strength to fight with the hurricane sandy grease summer
loving... and they can wear it for halloween as well. happy halloween. hope
everyone stays safe.
The captain went down with his ship...sad story, which has become buried is
a sea of junk news. The United States Coast Guard are the greatest people
you will ever meet, if you ever need them.
OMG I can't believe I was filming! D: Filmed on Long Island NY. Yes this is the original, I filmed this Twitter: @itsjohn718 To license this clip contact ...
+Luke Stubbz a piss weak storm? my neighbor who was crossing the street to go to their friends house (who had a generator) was crushed by a fallen tree right infront of his two children
+Luke Stubbz I live in the south. now, of course, I know this storm was a "weak gust of wind" but you have to understand that the NE isn't use to cyclones. Just for some perspective, you know that winter storm we got last year in January? Well to the people in the NE, that's just a "weak ice storm". They're use to what we got but we're not use to what they got. I mean, we shut down the entire city for a little sleet storm while that would be a normal city day for someonein New Jersey.
Your welcome, you didn't see the devastation that we have lived with after this storm. I have friends that are still NOT back in there homes yet. 2 1/2 years later.
haha first or second time commenting on here mate. I know your type hide behind your pc, ya key board warrior plz stop giving me notification's I don't want to help feed your power trip/ego addiction. you drop kick!
Haha, you're such an idiot. You don't need to lose a life from researching dumbass, in fact, you're the person who doesn't have a life because you've probably said shit things on other videos as well. Dumbass.
I'm guessing you don't go to school and do geography , do you? Hurricane sandy was the biggest storm ever to hit New York dumbass. Get your facts right.
