I then want to know isayitlikeitis1's sources. My guess is that his source is secondary, in other words mainstream media, perhaps even Fox news. I can't watch this either :( It is a traumatic event for the bystanders or anyone to have to witness this.The cop arrested an innocent man for filming a raid on a house in the neighborhood. Many others were also filming. Then from what I understand after the man was arrested (and his dog was in the car for protection), the dog jumped out of the window..well wouldnt you? If your master was being taken away? The dog did nothing wrong. He was shot and killed in mid air from one report I have read.

Jeffrey Salmon was one of seven Hawthorne Police Department officers charged with alleged deprivation of civil rights resulting from excessive force, denial of medical treatment and malicious prosecution, stemming from an incident that occurred at a party on July 21, 2006. Yes, it is sickening. This "trend" of police killing dogs for no reason needs to stop. There was a Peaceful Protest today in front of the Hawthorne PD, and since the media was there, well you know they had to put on a show. Petting dogs, talking to little children, bla bla bla..Hopefully since this incident has enraged ppl worldwide, things may begin to change. It is unfortunate and very sad, that Max had to be the one to set another example. Max's death will not go in vain. Thanks Lynn ♥

He could have turned down the music and walked across the street to film with the dozens of other bystanders. Instead he ignored the warnings to leave the crime scene and purposefully interfered with the police by distracting them. Why? And why did he need to have the dog with him? It's like he's trying to be a big, tough guy, and ends up looking like an idiot. This guy, incidentally, has a history of doing this kind of thing and trying to sue the cops when he's told to go away.

However, bad cops make it all that much harder and more dangerous for the good cops. Haven't you been paying attention? And I think I can assume the officer has been trained to shoot a gun and practices his aim. So why did he make the animal suffer needlessly? Why was his first reaction one of extremity? Did he really think that dog was capable of either killing him or seriously mutilating him? Why did Rosby take the animal with him? I read a comment on FB on a link that Mic-Mip(muttleecrew) posted that the owner has a lawsuit pending against this police department. I also read that possibly the owner had been obstructing prior to the vid being shot, but since obviously he had stopped, there was no reason for handcuffing him. Also I noticed the dog's body language was not one of aggression until the officer grabbed at him. This whole thing was so avoidable and so wrong. Any word about the owner??

(1) I agree with that Lynn. Not all officers are bad. But it is time for change across this entire planet. There is little to no enforcement of animal cruelty, domestic and wild. In this case, and I pray every Police Dept takes heed to what happened on Jun 30, that they initiate a REAL TRAINING PROGRAM for the Officers. A YouTube friend of mine attended the peaceful protest for Max, the Rottweiler, that was held in front of the Hawthorne police station in California. He said there were more police than protestors and that the police were on their best behavior, waving and petting dogs people brought. That police dept needs to know that this is not going away because their officers were petting dogs and waving.

no country in the world declared war on USA first thing first, second thing if they really protect America or at least you mean that they protect America, why do they go to Iraq or somewhere else and start a war on the whole nation? Where were they when the plane crashed or the Boston bomb exploded??!

Another Theatre piece, just like everything about the US. I like when he points out they're unarmed and innocent, exactly the same as all those killed in Iraq and Afghanistan (and so on) just for sheer business reasons. There's no honor in that. Not a little bit of honor to any of them.

Same as the Persian Gulf war, isn't it? I had once the chance to talk with a reporter that went to both and he said that they were told what to say ans show and that those wars were all about economical interests and to infuse fear in the dumb american population so they felt like they needed to support anything the government decided to do. Sad but after living many years in Europe I realized how brainwashed we are since childhood (tv, fear, etcetera)
