it's the illusion of a polymeter. both are playing in 4. bass plays 2+3+3+3+3+2=16 and guitar plays 2+2+3+2+2+3+2=16 but then danny plays the bell in 7 which accentuates adam's part due to the 2+2+3 figure. the extra 2 at the end of adam's part allows resolution, while danny's part doesn't resolve which is why at the end of 4 bars he plays that splash over the bar line into the cymbal wash. duh.

Yeah, Maynard once said in 2006 that the personal songs, which he said "like Pushit" might be retired. Then in 2007, they played Pushit, so whatever lol. But when I last saw them In 2007, they did play flood. But Prison Sex is definitely not a song for the faint of heart so maybe its subject matter doesn't fit well with the 10,000 Days songs. They played it during Lateralus, and generally early too. That whole album is about overcoming adversity in some way shape or form, perhaps the start with Prison Sex, The Grudge, Stinkfist, all songs about some negativity, then going into the Patient, Parabola, Lateralus, all songs about getting over problems and moving past them, that is a nice lyrical set up. Get what I mean? 

+feedbackloop I think of Maynard as not their leader but one of the four pillars that make up Tool. Without a pillar (including the bassist, guitarist and drummer) than Tool would not be the same band. I'm pretty sure there's a reason for him choosing to do this. Maybe when he's doing it he's actually wanting you to think about why he's doing it pass face value.

He's there. In alot of live Tool concerts I've seen there's usually a raised part of the stage where the singer performs. If anything Tool did this for a reason. Maybe it's to promote the idea that there's no "lead" in any band whereas most bands these days do indeed have somethng called a lead singer.  It could be me just blowing smoke (in fact I'm pretty sure it is) but I think they're positioned in a way so that no certain band member gets more spotlight than the other. I don't really know...Tool can be pretty deep and they make their fans over think certain things about them even if it ends up making you seem like a total retard xDDDD
