Thank you for the moving story of Dr. Kobba and the Mobai Clinic. I was in
the first Crossroads group to go to Mobai. When we left that summer the
original building was not yet built, but we left thousands of bricks
behind, made the same way as shown in your piece.
It's tragic to hear of the destruction of the original hospital but
inspiring to know that the hospital has been rebuilt.
Nothing can destroy the memories of living and working there with Dr. Kobba
that summer, as well as the life altering experience of connecting with
people from another culture.

Reed this is a real treasure. You showed the spirit of Crossroads Africa,
stressing the positive.Wonderful you had the foresight to take the video
amid all the work and novelty. I visited Sierra Leone to see the
White-necked Rockfowl and other birds in 2006. The sight of the amputees
and crippled remain stronger than the sight of those rare birds. We are all
one somehow. So glad we met you on the Danube

Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience with us, Reed. The narration
is just perfect and I loved the photography. How devastating to hear of the
destruction of the hospital and the killing of so many innocent people. It
certainly brings home the horror of war that we read about.

I feel like I just watched a clip from 60 Minutes. Thanks so much for
sharing your story. It's sad that your hard work and dreams of helping so
many came to such a devastating end. Hopefully the next chapter will fare
better!

Thank you, Reed, for directing me to this site. The story is inspirational
and deeply moving. The work of Crossroads Africa is amazing and
heartwarming despite the tragic death and destruction that followed.

Kuwait. Definitely check out the Bureau of Educational and Cultural
Afffairs website and search for Kennedy-Lugar Youth Exchange and Study for
more info.
