HI2KOREA: Dorm Room Tour (Sogang Gonzaga Hall)
This video has been long overdue, but here it is! I've been living here in Korea for the past 3 months, so welcome to my humble abode, the place where I eat, ...
I ordered the jacket from one of the students that hosted a group buy so ours were made specially custom. I believe they sell them at their store as well.
This makes me miss Sogang very much! Their jackets changed since I studied
there. International students did not have Varsity jackets but just regular
jackets. Wished I could order one for myself. :)
Hi, just wanna ask if you recommend staying in the dorms. Especially if you
like to stay out late or take travel trips out of Seoul. I heard there are
curfews, so just wanna ask if they are strict with foreign students?
+LivLuvLang You get penalty points for coming in after curfew hours. The system was really weird but from what I remembered, on weekends curfew is 1am but if you stay out until 5am they won't deduct points. But you don't really need to worry about passing curfew. You can enter the building 24/7, they will not lock you out.
Okay so, you get in trouble for coming in late or get in trouble for both late and staying out? Did you get in trouble for not letting them know in advance? Thanks!
+Victoria Mak Ahhh lucky you! I'm sure you will enjoy your time there. Sogang is very strict but I guarantee you will make many great memories. Cheers! ^^
LOL. Perks of being an international student I guess! Thanks for the quick response. This was a concern I had and am considering if I should forgo the dorms for and live off campus. But because Im heading to Sogang alone, it would be pretty difficult and expensive to find a suitable accommodation outside of Sogang. But I knew I wanna stay out late as well, so just wanted to see if there was any way around it!
Many would say the dorms are like a maximum security prison. Although it can seem like that at times, it is very clean, safe, and convenient especially for students. They may seem strict with the curfew but tbh International Students didn't really care about the curfew. I knew a bunch of people that would stay out a lot and they never got evicted. They Just got penalty points which didn't really matter. I remember we had this end of the year award ceremony where there were many candidates to be awarded for the most penalty points. LOL
