Ford owned Jaguar for about 18 years, before they were making the best cars in the world. Now they are making better cars. Ford didn't have enough money to pay their assets (Jaguar) So they sent them to a more generous company which helped them develop the 5.0 Litre Supercharged V8.

The Jaguar V8 is one of the MOST UNRELIABLE engines in the world . Put a FORD V8 in and it will have some reliability too. It`s also the least lasting engine . needs replacing very often . SAD

Jaguars new GEN III Engine is built from the ground up. The only thing it shares from the old is the fixing bolts. And the rubber busches on the bolts.

LOL I HAVE 91 Mustang, rebuilt engine less then 8K starts one crank all the time...LOL and will give that Jag a good run for its money!

Not yet. Intend to change yellow relay first. Battery is past it's best but it's not the battery as it doesn't work with a booster pack. If not then check earth connections and finally the starter motor if I have to. Matt

It's not the raw driving machine many may expect. Its not visceral like a Lotus Elise or as singular in purpose as a Honda S2000, and it won't beat you up.

Agree but disagree.Save this car and go buy a 370z or Genesis Coupe. Muscle Cars are for older guys who grew up in the 60s 70s 80s and 90s where Chevy and Ford ran the car motorsport world at least in the US. Most of todays generation of enthusiast/ tuners such as myself want a car that can do it all right from the factory the old Evo up until 08, the STi the Z and now the Genesis Coupe. I'm not bashing American Muscle cars but racing in a straight line all day is just boring.Bring on the Touge!

One reason why the BRZ version will most likely not excel like it should. When you tell someone you drive a BRZ eventually someone will tell you isn't that just a re-badge scion? And you would have to go into nerd mode and say no no no this is not true, and then proceed to explain how subaru did all the engineering from the engine to the suspension and blah blah blah. Its always a bad sign when you have to explain anything to people about your car. I still like the BRZ over this Scion tho.

I own a 2013 NIssan GT-R and I am going to buy an FR-S to take on daily driver duties... I respect the muscle car mantra but each section of motor sports has their iconic car... The FR-S/BRZ are each very well priced for what you get... No mustang with its old school rear suspension has the same balance and precision that these cars have. Sure at a stop light you will beat the FR-S... Try a mountain pass... Pray you don't run into my 2013 GT-R because it is fast in a straight line....

Yli love how some talk shit about this car and never drove one....ive driven them and can say this car is fun amd easy to control..muscle cars are good for straight races,lets not talk about the gennise..its a hyundai amd just that makes it shit..they refused to put it in the latest fast amd furious movie cause producers knew real car guys dont respect huyundai...so fuc off to anyone trashing this car...show me a american made car that can do this

@nismor3490 So true on rebadging it to Toyota. Scion doesn't deserve this beautiful 86. I wish they had just kept it the 86 like in Japan and made it a Toyota car. Scion cars are for posers who like to think their cars are actually performance oriented or sporty. If you buy a Scion to be unique, that's fine, but it's not sporty in the least. The 86 wearing anything other than the 86 or BRZ badge is wrong.

Why is Scion's interior different than the other two models? It just makes it look more cheap. People will usually pay more for a better interior. I think they did this to make the Scion less expensive than the Subaru, but I would not get the Scion because of it. I would prefer a real Toyota 86, but would not mind the BRZ either. Toyota really is an oddball when marketing to America I think.

@cermakattack Yeah, except only the brz and fr-s will be available in the u.s. unfortunatley, bewcause I really wanted to have the toyota 86 available to me, I would have chosen that one over the other 2 hands down, and seeing how the subie will most likley be a alot more expensive, my only choice will be the fr-s........ sigh............

@BigCivic i know, but my GTI, which is in a similar price point, creates a feeling of quality without being expensive. from all the pictures iv seen, FR-S looks flimsy. i think the mazda mx-5 which its meant to compete with looks better. oh well, its just an opinion, and since ill prb never drive one i wont really know how it feels.

did you noticed they didnt use any footage from any of those many camera's? also the fact that they need to drift in the rain to get it sideways and even in the dry it hardly makes any smoke from the tires cuz its just barely has enough power to keep it going (even when sliding!). Total fail!
