Our approach is to sell low-end, large-market information products as ebooks on Amazon - the main focus here is to gain new leads and first-time customers. Amazon is far from the only strategy though, 90% of our profit comes from packaging higher priced, higher-value products and selling them on our own sites. That way you can cross-sell or up-sell more advanced versions of your products from your Amazon ebook. Make sense?

Exactly Tom - the other major factors are... 1. Have topic that people are emotionally attached to (passionate about) 2. Focus on helping your reader achieve an outcome rather than just be informed 3. Make it step-by-step so people can see clearly what to do...this dramatically reduces refunds/returns and gets you more testimonials/endorsements as people achieve what the ebook promises

Great points. EBook writing is simply an insurmountable task for many people. No matter how well you know your subject, it is very difficult to organize information into a way that makes sense in a book. Once you organize the material, you still have to be able to write it in a professional and error-free way, which is difficult for some people.

Thanks for the podcast, i am trying to put together a serious of small informational books that i can sell online as well, i was unsure of where to start but it really helps knowing that it really is as easy as just starting in a text file, i am hoping that it will work out well, it would be great to have a 1 on 1 person to bounce questions off of though.
