CNN's Jessica Yellin speaks to Obama Deputy Campaign Manager Stephanie Cutter about the hits and misses of the first presidential debate. Watch all of the ...
Oh, I'm not denying that Obama looked terrible in the debate, however,
studies have shown that since at least the 70's ALL (but one) first
presidential debates have been won by the candidate running for office and
they eventually LOST the election. This is just a sugar high for Mutt and
his friends. Like someone said, I couldn't care less if Romney wipes the
floor w/ Obama in the debates, I'm not voting for a person that already
wrote off half the country. That type of person shouldn't be POTUS.
You guys enjoys incumbent president gets beaten. But, make no mistake
you've to be 150% sure about the challenger. Otherwise, you will be dead.
Look, Challenger can say anything. He's free to take his words to maximum.
When he's president he doesn't have that touch. Sitting in office he
understands that sound bites doesn't make real solutions. That's what
happened to Obama. He can't make unreal promises. Because the world is
looking at him. He has to be calm and know what's he talking about.
Since we have exclusions to income of 1.6 trillion, and federal income tax
revenue of 1.7 trillion, a 20% cut in income tax is totally feasible if
even 20% of the exclusions are eliminated (revenue neutral). Cut more
exclusions, and revenue is enhanced. Corporations get 8% of the exemptions,
deductions, and loopholes. The rest goes to individuals. By the way, CBO
data shows the average net federal income tax rate for the middle class is
13.5% to 15%. Romney paid 14% on income 2010-2011.
I'm over it now, its just that the thought of republicans in charge again
sickens me. The greatest threat to American prosperity is the
corporate/republican party of exploitation. They haven't yet evolved from a
neanderthal mentality. They want to take as much as they can get from the
group, and invest as little as possible back into the group. This is a path
to poverty for the masses, and gated communities for the richest. This is
more or less how a dictatorship is created.
Educating, really? All you said was "big bird". Heres educating: Lets look
at the electoral map shall we, now, if we give obama the states we know he
will win (nevada, iowa, wisconsin, new hampshire -- probably colorado but
i'll hold off on that for the fun of it). Let's also give romney north
carolina due to probability. This puts the count as follows: Obama: 263
Romney: 206 Remaining states: colorado, florida, virginia, ohio obama will
only need one of these states.
haha! I already know Massachusetts is not a swing state as well as
Pennsylvania. Since you don't know the obvious reason I brought up those 2
states is for this reason: If you can't even win the state that YOU
governed, why would I think you'd be great to run the country? The people
in Mass. know rMoney best. He didn't even take the time to meet w/
legislators to get ANYthing done in that state. 47th out of 50 states in
job creation... (cont)
Romney tried to explain TAX RATES can be lowered across-the-board if the
tax code is simplified (get rid of illogical exemptions, deductions, and
loopholes). These cause a lot of MISALLOCATION of resources (money).
Resources (capital) is used more logically and efficiently when the tax
code is simple and rates are lower. We have as many exemptions, deductions
and loopholes ( 1.6 trillion) as we do federal income tax revenue (1.7).
You're a sucker for Marxist propoganda, and I doubt that you can be helped.
Unless, of course, you see through the Dependencycrat drivel. Try running a
business of your own sometime, even a simple one that doesn't require a ton
of capital. You'll see for the first time what makes the world go 'round,
and perhaps escape that Utopian collectivist tripe you were raised on and
ate up for 7 hours a day in public schools.
Seems like the oily face lying liar just can't admit that her boy got his
ass handed to him...it's only gonna get better America,it's only gonna get
better..looks like all you leeches better start looking for jobs,America is
tired of supporting your freeloading lifestyle..sorry folks, the gravy train
is about to dry up..maybe you shouldn't of had all those kids after
all..Romney/Ryan 2012
thank you! Look..........don't sweat it. These Romney supporting idiots
don't realize that debates don't really matter anyway. Only about 5 percent
of the people in america already have their mind up and Obama's STILL
leading in the polls because he will STILLLLL be our president for ANOTHER
4 YEARS! hahahahahaha!!!!!! Let Romney have ONE little debate...
Damn Stephanie. Take a deep breath, relax, and find a real job. Get
together with Debbie Wassermann and decompress with a couple quarts of
Hagen-Daz. Your boy got his ass handed to him. Sounds like everybody wanted
to push President Obama off the podium and do the debate for him. Obama
gots to wear the daddypants himself and stand up to Romney.
Stephanie Cutter is saying Romney was "testy." The only person tied to a
campaign that is ALWAYS TESTY is Stephanie Cutter. She was part of Kerry's
failed campaign and she is doing her part to drive Obama's campaign into
the ground. After November, I don't think she'll be working as a
communications expert for any high profile clients.
Stephanie Cutter is smarter and more knowledgeable than every republican
put together. Romney got away with a performance of lies, but the president
will be prepared for this pathological lying chameleon in the next debate.
Lyan has been backed into a corner by rat romney denying everything that
R&R have campaigned on. OBAMA 2012!!!
(continued) How on earth can he claim he knows how to create jobs when he's
more famous in FIRING people??? I'm still trying to understand that one.
And Pennsylvania, though not a swing state, rmoney & repubs are, for some
reason, spending money in that state acting like they can win it along w/
other NON swing states..lol!
One problem with Obama's strategy is the inconsistency --- on the one hand,
he cites studies that make very specific assumptions about Romney's plan,
and criticizes Romney's plan on this basis of these studies. On the other
hand, he argues Romney is not specific enough. You can't eat your cake and
have it too.
Stephanie, you idiot, Yes, he wanted to "speak to the people", but HE WAS
ALSO IN A DEBATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE TO DEBATE!!! Now, that I've
heard her reaction saying that her campaign "feels good about what
happened", I can only PRAY Obama doesn't listen to their advice for the
next debate!!
Obama Deputy Campaign Manager: Romney Won!
Stephanie Cutter tells CNN that Romney won the debate (October 3, 2012).
Obama did the right thing. He didn't take cheap shots, he explained his
position, and he contrasted himself to Romney. Now he is heavily criticized
for doing what everyone says they want politicians to do! We perpetuate
this cycle of dirty politics from criticisms like this. If you decide to
vote for Romney because of his relentless out-of-context attacks on the
same point over and over, you're not enhancing the correct role of
democracy. Vote based upon which candidate's policies match your own
Mitt will cut anything that takes borrowing from China to pay for it, so he
says. But no doubt he'll still take the nation into a war with Iran as he's
promising, and continue the war in Afghanistan as he's promised as well,
while increasing defense spending by $2 trillion more than the Defense
Department is asking for, which can only mean he's going to slap the people
with a war tax instead, and cut Medicare and Social Security payments by
half and eliminate aid to the poor and veterans to boot
The liberal recipe of putting more people on welfare, food stamps, and
government aid, has been proven to be ineffective, and unsustainable. We
need a more productive workforce. And many of those people want to be more
productive, they just have no current opportunities. Lowering taxes on
individuals and corporations would be the biggest boost to our economy, and
the biggest boost to hiring. Freeing up money for investment and
consumption will create millions of jobs. The government is the enemy
I'd consider myself to be relatively un-bias so if you think I'm full of it
that's fine. From what I've seen it isn't that Obama is doing amazingly
well at PR or anything but Romney is digging himself into deeper holes. I
read a comment somewhere that for this debate they should just let Romney
talk the entire time and he'll screw himself over, and I really can't argue
that because he's been caught quite a few times in I guess you could say
"Lies". They all lie, he's just bad at it apparently
Absolutely exactly what I knew would happen! Obama was asked & had to
defend himself, for the very first time since elected. Finally some
questions of substance without Obama demanding & getting "OFF LIMIT" &
"TOTAL EDITING" rights & granted by all the liberal news & talk shows. ALL
of them, EXCEPT FOX! Romney was just being MItt, his performance & manor
was just typical to those that know him & payed attention to full video
clips and not the chopped, diced and sliced propaganda smear sites.
Amazing comments by everyone here. I really hope people are starting to
realize Obama, as the joke that he is. Romney may not be the most fun to
hang out and have a beer with, but thats not what a president is supposed
to be. Romney is strictly business, and he will take his position
seriously. He has much better ideas for our economy than Obama, and he has
facts and evidence to support those ideas. I doubt he will be making any
appearances on the View. Sorry Whoopi....
You obviously dont get it. 1)Why shouldn't elmo and big bird get private
funding? If it is good, it will still be around. 2) He clearly stated that
Obama has been ,yinh about his tax cuts. What debate were you watching?
3)Thats the way it should be dumbass. The beauty of our governement
structure is to give YOU a voice. You have a much bigeer vocie in local
policy rather then having it being mandated from the federal government.
You need to educate yourself obviously.
See thats where you just are completely wrong. Dem's have carried this
bullshit idea that they try to convince the public that they care more
about the poor and middle class. But they are only generous with other
peoples money. Conservatives, have a completely different idea of how to
help the middle class, and those who are capable of working. They want
lower taxes, less reliance on the government, and more jobs available,
instead of everyone receiving federal aid.
Mitt = a sack of lies $5 trillion tax cut =/= deficit neutral or all the
loopholes closed and exemptions ended $5 trillion tax cut = $2000 tax hike
for the middle-class 100% minus 47% who are retirees, troops in military,
low wage earners, students =/= 100% of population 100% of population = a
hostile takeover venture to Mitt Medicare vouchers =/= anywhere near the
cost of health care to seniors Medicare vouchers = End of Medicare Mitt
just doesn't add up.
Thats fine, we are trillions in DEBT, buddy! What do you think Obama has
been doing the past. He signed the same tax cuts they are talking about.
What plan has Obama openly discussed in detail? Nothing. Romney clearly
said he wants to expand the tax base without cutting the 1% rich people
tax. Do you really find it acceptable that 47% of the US does not pay
taxes? Honestly, I wish they would just do a Fair Tax, that way there wont
be this class warfare.
Dude, you say all these things, like you actually know the effect of
lowering the tax rates. Lowering the tax rates will generate more tax
Revenue. The government is this big barrel of waste. And throwing your
money into it, is the same as throwing it away. He WILL NOT RAISE TAXES on
the middle class. He is actually going to lower them by 20%. Please don't
buy into the BS reports written by Obama's staff or a liberal sided study.
They are all lies.
Can you imagine what it would be like if you actually had to BE Stephanie
Cutter or that sh!t for brains Jay Carney? I mean...these guys are living
inside a nightmare every day. They have to wear the smile, spin, lie,
blame, excuse, deny, while the building comes crashing down all around
them...EVERY DAY. After last night, I'd call in sick today.
yo Pal...he gets two minutes to respond to a question. I thought he did a
crazy good job. He blew everybody away...including your $90billion dollar
to green energy during a national crisis friend, OBAMA. I'm still
undecided...but ignorant people like you make everybody want to vote for
Romney
The rest of the interview was a tragedy for Stephanie Cutter. She was SO
defensive and nasty. You could see from the shocked look on her face and
cunfused babbling (Umm... The sun was in his eyes! etc, etc.) that she
didn't know what the hell just hit her! this debate was a public spanking.
Im an independent voter...but if that's the best our COMMANDER IN CHIEF
can do....he'll be a one term president. Romney destroyed him. I felt
embarrassed for the guy. My face literally turned red. we will see what
happens. But at the end of the debate...Obama said "YOU WON" wtf is that??
Obama looks like an intellectual when he is alone on a stage in front of
his liberal fans. Even though, his elevator only goes up one more floor
than the rest of his base he is genius to them. BUT Stephanie Cutter....
YOUR BOY JUST GOT PIMP SLAPPED ALL OVER THE STAGE BY ROMNEY.
Sanders Campaign Manager: When We Win The Nomination, We Are Going To Fire People At The DNC
The popular vote is the popular vote. Who cares what 1 state thinks? You
have to yield to everyones wishes if you are a Superdelegate and not just
your hometowns favorite. You are actually contradicting yourself by saying
that the popular vote and the states votes are the same things. Hillarys
supporters are far worse, they wont even take the time to look into her
crimes. Ron Paul is gearing towards his reelection as Congressman. So who
are you supporting? Hopefully not McCain or Huckabee.
that was cute. the superdelegates should bow to the will of the people, as
long as they choose Obama. the reporter totally caught him. hillary will
get as many superdelegates as she can, of course, and try to win one way or
another. but he made a valid point... a lot of those superdelegates went
for hillary before they had any idea things would shake out this way.
s-delegate votes cant really be counted until actually cast.
He might have stammered, but he made perfect sense to me. This is going to
be bullshit if we keep getting the Supreme Court and Superdelegates picking
our representatives. Superdelegates is NOT what the forefathers had
envisioned when they declared that all men were created equal, particularly
when it came to voting. Who is to say that many of the "Super"delegates
were not ensured their seats to decide the outcome?
The will of the electorate? What will the rest of the Barack Obama
super-delegates do if Hillary Clinton ends up leading in delegates but
Barack Obama would win if his super-delgates stay with him? Will they go
with the will of the people, even if that means Barack Obama would lose?
Isn't this what many are saying the Hillary Clinton super-delegates should
do? We shall see.
To believe a President is the only one who can change a country well is
foolish specially a country like the USA, me personally I know Obama wont
fix everything 100% but I also know he is the biggest step forward for this
country, Experience does not matter the ability to bring people together is
what is required for any leader, and no other candidate has that.
So all our individual votes are drowned out by the masses that live around
us, and our entire states totals goes to one douchebag. But a
"Super"delegate gets their vote to go exactly where they intended it to go.
Do away with the "Super"delegates and the electoral college all together
and do this solely by the popular vote.
Local delegates state delegates pledged delegates elected delegates chosen
delegates super delegates Does anyone still deny that our votes don't
count? Do folq still insist we have honest elections? These are mis-guided
folq who still cling to fantasies of "freedom and democracy." There is no
election--only selection.
Thanks, Jeremy. This adds to the drama created if there were this march on
Washington- the Ron Paul campaign is talking about. If there was an
undeniable outpouring of support for him, I would like to see what the
pundits would say. We all know they would play it up, should only a few
thousand come.
I feel a palpable anger in these comments over the role of super delegates.
My question is this: Is it more important to have the ideal nominee (no
matter how he or she is chosen) or is more important to unite the
democratic party to defeat the republicans in the fall?
2:05 - "it's not the only thing we need to consider" Yes David, the top
vote winner is the only thing worth considering. His sentiment is good, but
his delivery is so weak. If you overturn the will of the people, democracy
becomes a memory.
He just wanted a job. I like how he stutters about giving her his super
delegate. He's a fucking joke. He's just on the payrole now and had to come
out now to get paid...lol I wish people like him would get out of politics.
Fucking Trailtor
Get out there and volunteer for Obama. If he gets enough of a delegate lead
the superdelegates won't matter. He is the one who can beat McCain, and he
is more peace-inclined than Hillary, which is very important for the
world's future.
and who is Clinton's base in California, and Texas that account for huge
numbers of votes? Guess what? It's that latinos. Who do you think is most
likely to be impoverished and uneducated in those states?
The American political system is a scam to give people the false impression
that they live in a Democratic Country. This will not change as long as
people are content to be treated like herds of sheep.
Hypocrite. Other "super delegates" should turn to Obama since he is in the
lead right now, but if Hillary wins the lead.. uh, ah, I, uh, uh.. well,
then it's not that important to follow the voters.
"Obama supporters, who also likely believe the USA is responsible for 911,"
That is ridiculous. Where did you get such an absurd idea? Sure YOU'RE
intelligent enough to be making decisions?
