It's a fine Hess & Eisenhardt special that Lincoln offered in '59 & '60.
Interesting is that H & E didn't alter the wheelbase.Other than a couple of
places where the trunk or hood doesn't quite line up as it should, and the
wiper system being inoperable (as declared), the REAL turn-off is right in
the beginning of this video: the flatulence of the NON-STOCK exhaust.
Admittedly, it's very hard to find such, but I know a place that has the
whole NOS system.
Wow! That is the epitome of beauty! That car looks like brand new. Is it a
restoration or was it stored in a climate controlled enviroNment it's whole
life?
After about a year and a half, I decided to put the Lincoln on the road for a short road trip. The background song is: Title: I'm just thinking about cooling out Artist: ...
+Chad Singleton Thanks very much, however, I found the song not long before you replied which was a painfully and stressful experience. Thanks a lot anyways.
@ 1:49 "Bob Holbrook" was the first owner of the car....The name that is on
the dash. You got your name on a plaque when you bought a new one around
1978 or so.
nieuwe verflaag.
Very nice commercial. Classy, and to the point. And the image quality is
absolutely SUPERB! You or whoever recorded this must have had a very high
end VCR.
How peaceful this is compared to today's TV commercials!
1973 LINCOLN TOWN CAR - A CONTINENTAL MODEL
Lincoln Continental is a model name for a luxury car marketed by the Lincoln division of Ford Motor Company. Along with the Zephyr, the Continental is a ...
I was never a fan of this mustard color, Its from the early 70's, I had a
teacher that got a 71 Mark III and it was this color, with a brown vinyl
top. This car was much nicer looking in dark brown then. Nice car, but I
always thought they made the Lincoln look more like a Mercury. 71 and 72, I
still give the Deville the win in the Looks dept
+califdad4 The seventies sure did bring about radical car colors and this Lincoln is an example of that for sure. Most likely, I think that this was not a popular color when more subtle paint was the norm.
your creamy yellow is much nicer than this Harvest gold color , even if they name it a nicer name its still what it is. I really didn't like it then and I still don't
+califdad4 This was a typical car color in the seventies along with the colorful leisure suits for men. My 76 Lincoln has a tan vinyl top over a light yellow paint but then I'm the second owner so I'm not that choosy. The early seventies Cadillacs are among my favorites also. Thanks.
Hey Warren. Beautiful looking looking car. My cousin had a 1973 Lincoln
Town Car when I was a boy. At the time, I thought it was the most beautiful
looking car.
Beautiful car. I love it when one of these monsters is put on display at a
summer Cruiser Nights. Some young kids (20's) see it and just can't believe
how big and long these vintage cars really were.
+itsmegp46 Of course youngsters don't have a clue about these older cars. And in the seventies eras, these gas guzzlers were gigantic. Now that the price per gallon of gas is more reasonable, I can fill my 76 Lincoln's tank with high octane for around $ 20 . I'm really glad that once in a while a huge vintage car shows up at a car show. It's an educational experience for those that weren't around back then. Many thanks to you for enjoying this one.
I kick myself Warren, in 1986 I was trading cars wholesale on the side
while running my restaurant and the wholesaler knew I loved old cars and he
brought me this 23 year old Lincoln in amazing condition in medium brown
50K on it for $800 of course I bought it. I loved it. Someone offered me
$2500 from my fathers paper mill a week later the car was that nice and and
I being a sales person to make a profit said SOLD but now I wish I stored
the car! I came across to many cars like this in perfect condition. Damn
it. Thanks Warren.
+gene978 Ah, the one that got away. I know exactly how you feel. I've had too many slip away myself. At least you made an easy profit from it but that doesn't diminish the sense of loss you feel. Every once in a while I check ebay for Continentals and Marks for sale and sometimes there are amazing finds. Maybe you could replace your long lost love with a new sweetheart ? Many thanks for viewing this one owner Lincoln.
