@sirlonghair The word discontinued should be properly used... Its not
outdated. I don't care about evolved. i am talking about the actual older
engines dumbass. I can say those engines are outdated. No way to go around
it. Also you are comparing newer engines to a early 90's engine. 1 engine
made in 1993 that is capable of making 2000+hp is pretty good versus a
modern engine make a few hundred more. 2jz can hold the power too. and
1000hp pump gas street versions everywhere? yea ok....

Chevy crate engines are fairly new the current Ls3 is lighter than ever
before and regularly make 2200Hp not bad for a 418pound engine what is the
2Jz 475LBS. and over 2000Hp dream not reliable the LSX @ 460 pounds will
hold 2500Hp. and reliable 1000Hp pump gas street versions are everywhere as
Supra become more and more scarce
That same thing happened to me my first time at the track. I had an 85 Z28
with a 350 in it running 14.0 nothing phenomial or anything. But the car
next t me was a 69 Camaro with a blown 454 ran a 7 second 1/4 mile I was
like well FUCK that sucks lol. He could have ran the track twice in the
time it took me to do it once lol. It just totally sucks ass when you are
THAT guy lol. But yeah I thought the sentra was going to win. Oh well lol.

I can't find that car in google or youtube. I'd love to see some vids
though. I'm guessing it has a modified chassis. In my opinion, if you have
a tubed chassis and put in a completely different block, who cares what
kind of car you started with. Also, "street legal" is probably used pretty
loosely here. Plus, LSX was never put into a production car. Don't get me
wrong, I love supras, C5 Z06's, and C6's.
Buddy get your facts straight... we're running 182ci and not 350+ci.. our
CR is lower, so that means less hp per psi, so we can run more psi than
most motors. On ur hand, u run a v8 5.7+ltr engine that makes more hp per
psi cause of CR but, cant handle so much boost. So it all evens out.. Your
less boost=1100hp.. us more boost=1100hp... everything evens out in our
smaller engines...
@sirlonghair Small blocks are out dated as are big blocks. NO one is
evolving them at all. Just because a motor is still being produced doesn't
mean its not outdated. There are aftermarket companies that still make the
old Mustang 302 blocks. Plus another thing is that there are still
aftermarket 2JZs being produced so I wouldn't call it outdated.
@CRFpilot22 Clear things up 2jz engine was made in the early 90's. Has 3
liters of displacement and 6 cylinders vs modern technology added on a
modded ls series block running well past 400ci of displacement... You do
realize 2jz's have made past 2000hp right?
@sirlonghair And i can say those old bigblock and small block engines are
outdated dumbass. 2jz isn't outdated... Especially since the engine can
take much more power and hold it on the stock longblock then majority of
other cars made in 2011.
OMG! 1200 HP @ the crank!!!! going by 15% losses. That's impressive
considering the Bugatti Veyron has 1001 HP & 987 TQ @ the crank, it weighs
over 4,000 LBS and does 253 mph. I'd love to know what your vette's top
speed would be in 6th gear.

without any boost no blower no turbo and it is nearly as light as a 2jz out

over 1000 hp at 16 psi, build that motor and crank up the boost, if that
thing was at 25-30psi like those supra guys do it that thing would make a
crazy amount of pwer, as if 1,023isnt enough

@sirlonghair The 2JZ was actually built for the track. Thats why it was
used in JGTC and numerous other tracks. Its a much better motor for the
road course than a Big Block Chevy.
you can buy every part to make a brand new 69 Camaro in the mail and put a

Rising fuel prices, licensing. Take all of that into consideration it takes
a nasty bite out of the common man's wallet. All I have is a 1980 vette, I
love it, it's cheap, looks good and it's fun to drive.

Z06, or have you done business with them? Well I have. To the average
Viper/Vette guy, they are a joke. Research them before you speak, since you
have not done business with them. If you owned a viper/Z06/ or regular
vette, you would see how sub par they are. They only care about magazines,
big events. They have screwed all of us. They bought out Lone Star Raceway,
which we run at, and it sucks. No track prep, etc
Lbs compare to HP accord to each cars power to weight ratio so that only
holds true if he also has 10 lbs per hp. My crossfire has 8 lbs per HP but
average HP due to varied torque curves is also very important. If the GTO
had the puny 350 hp 5.7 liter of the early years and only make 480 with a
turbo, then the turbo is a turd!! I would smoke a 480 HP GTO easy, but a
proper turbo set up on that car should make 550- 750 hp depending on 5.7 or
6.0, supporting mods, and tuning!
Hennessey is not production stock! Just like motorsports or lingenfelter
for a corvette! ZR1 and Z06 are stock production cars compared to de
"regular" Z51 engine package. If you put Z06 vs the new 600hp viper they'll
go heads for de first 300meters, then it would be viper; but corvette has a
big advantage over turns. I mean, I believe the viper is an amazing car,
but I believe the vettes are better cars in mostly every way.
@jedashford Judging by the number of people's choice car show trophies I
get at car shows, while corvettes are dismissed as "just another mid life
crisis car", I would say you are a minority. The corvette is not ugly
either, just too common! The point is my 3.2 V6 with a blower makes the
same power as chevy V8 with 2X that displacement;) To each their own, if
you can afford a Vette, go for it! Be one with the herd;)
@cblt2007 I don't think you understand ET to TrapSpeed relation. He beat
the Vette the whole way down, the Vette would have been trucking past him
at the end. A 101 Trap = Mid to high 13 sec car. I have a 00' Viper and I
trapped 119mph bone stock, I have many many passes 117-119mph. Search
DragTimes online some of them trap over 120mph stock. So.. like I said my
guess is there was a bug in the measuring equipment.
Now it is most obvious to say that both cars are not stock...That viper
should be doing 12,4-12,7 seconds and the vette 12,8-13,2, when stock, as
the vette is a modified Z51 and the viper has more than a camm upgrade
inside that engine. The almost 1 second advantage that appears to have the
viper over the vette seems very natural do to engine proportions and output
numbers, meanning a lot of horsepower and torque.
crossfires are chick cars. and the fact that your 3.2 v6 blown makes as
much hp as a stock corvette is sad bc there are so many aftermarket parts
for lsx motors. plus, your little v6 will never sound half as good as a v8
even with the blower. all i have on my c6 is full exhaust, cam, cold air
intake and im pushing 500hp to the wheels and the cam sounds MEAN.

Hate to break it to you.. either the time system was messed up in the left
lane, or the Viper let off after the 1/8 mile. He ran 12.1 @ only 101. That
means he either was BIG time sandbagging & toying with the vette, or he let
off way before the 1/4.
@helianimal no that just means that he has no top end... could be gearing..
could be that he just runs out of power in the top end. just because you
have a small trap spead doesnt mean that you let off.. very nice race love

same engine. you can get a z28 for about 5k where as a vette would be 12k
easily. think of what you could do to the camaro or firebird with that
extra 7 thousand
