For standard listening levels, yes. However, when the amplifier reaches musical peaks it will demand an instant burst of current for a split second that smaller gauge wire may not be able to account for, thus starving the amp during those moments. Consider the 4 Gauge kit so you can use the JAD1200.1 at full potential at all impedance ranges. If you are strapped for cash, the 8 Gauge kit will definitely work.

You could use a quality 8 Gauge wire if it is oxygen free copper. However, if your wire is cheap it will have a lot of resistance and then you won't get the power you need, which will also heat your cheap wire up. Did your amp come with the gauge adapter? That should allow you to use a quality 4 or even 1/0 gauge wire.

I see in the video that it also shows 8 guage wires being hooked to it. My amp right now has 8 guage wires going to it. Im gonna swap it out for this nvx amp and run a 2 ohm load to it. Would i need to run a bigger wire kit to it or could i keep my 8 guage wires?

At 1 ohm, the JAD 1200.1 puts out 1200 watts. If you have two woofers hooked up to it, then each sub would receive half the wattage. So in this case, each woofer would get 600 watts (600 + 600 = 1200).

I'm glad you guys uploaded this. There wasn't anything on my 1200.1 box or papers that it were cea compliant. Glad that it is. My.mind it at ease. Can't wait to hook it up to my type R :-)

Ok cool thanks for the info. My nvx jad1200.1 comes in tomorrow from Sonic Electronix so i hope it comes with the adapter so i can upgrade to a 4 guage wire kit.

Good , about internals circuits , i think you are wrong ! that large toroidal core is smps and the other ETD-49 core is for amp's output filter , am i right ?

Wow, thanks for letting us know, that was actually a typo. The JAD1200.1D amplifiers do not have bass boost.

where is the bass boost located on this amp? on the website it advertises 0 - 12 db bass boost @ 50hz.

Thanks, yes I'll probably go with an amp that will push about 1000 watts to each sub.
