AR15, Old School vs New School
A comparison of a new tactical AR15 with an old Colt from the 1980s. Both guns are cool in their own way, but some people go a little overboard in the tactical ...
The guy that you bought that rifle from didn't know entirely what he was
doing. You can tell because he had that idiotic bi-pod on there in addition
to a vertical foregrip and furthermore, the gun didn't have any
magnification. This is a sign where people throw on bullshit just for the
sake of it. Bi-pods typically mean you are shooting a more precise weapon
that tend to be heavier meaning from time to time, you will be in a static
position (sniping/coyote hunting/hog hunting etc.) but that is convoluted
by the fact that the guy also bought a vertical foregrip which is more of a
CQB/rapid fire type mod. As I mentioned, he had a red dot. When are you
ever going to be using a red dot with a bi-pod at the same time? LOL. Some
people might say they use the bi-pod for range days to rest their guns but
you are now permanently attaching weight to your gun when you can easily
use backpacks, bean bags, ammo cans etc. I just find it hilarious when
people mod their guns in such idiotic ways. Know the purpose of your rifle
and stick to it.
+ColtFPSGAMING Fuck you. I never said that they HAVE to abide by my standards of equipping a rifle. They have the right to do what hey want to their rifle just as much as I have the right to comment on it. You fuck off.
Folding Knife Lubricants: Modern Technology vs. Old School
In this video I share some experiences with knife pivot lubricants. Recently, I emerged from the stone age of lube and ventured out into the modern age. A funny ...
I also use Abu Garcia reel oil and my guess is the Daiwa reel oil is
similar. What makes the difference is having a nice applicator bottle like
that Daiwa oil has. Once you have the applicator just refill it with cheap
3-IN-ONE oil which is perfect light machine oil for lubing any folding
knife mechanism.
+Pietro B SSSHHHHHHH!!! You're not supposed to tell anyone that. How are the hi-tech snake oil companies supposed to make any money?!?! Geezzzzz!!! LOLOL!
Here's something interesting for you: my sebenza came a little stiff from
the factory. I don't mind a little break in period, but I did try a bit of
washer polishing to speed it up. Still after a week or so the pivot was too
stiff for my expectations, even after cleaning and re lubing with CRK
grease. Yesterday I thought screw it, a little Hoppes #9 couldn't possibly
make it worse. To my surprise my sebenza has achieved the smoothness I
expected from the infamous bushing pivot! Maybe I got a bad batch of CRK
grease.
I will admit that the grease has a little more 'even' smoothness. It's firm, but there's no jerkiness to it. The oil is really slick but you can somewhat feel a bit of grittiness.
Just switched over to daiwa reel oil and definitely has a smoother feel
than the sentry solution I used. Even after cleaning my knives and using
sentry solution, my knives just felt gritty. Thanks for the tips. Saving up
for a Sebenza 21 currently. I'll definitely add the floro. grease when I do
get the sebenza.
Thank you for the advice, Rob. I will keep that on my list for the maintenance of the Sebenza. Hope you have a blessed year and may the Lord humble and continue to guide you in your day to day life. God bless
+Joshua Jacob Here's a little cocktail I've stumbled upon with some experience. Sebenzas and Striders really like a combination of fluoro grease AND Daiwa Reel Oil.
+khyoon14 It was designed as a anti-corrosion, but it is a mixture of oil and a hydrocarbon to dilute it so that it has a lower viscosity. Once the hydrocarbon evaporates only the oil is left behind. Also a lubricant is anything that reduces friction. Water is a lubricant in some applications, as is graphite, Teflon, or greases. Also you could use Glycerin, or a host of other substances. Lubricant just means to reduce friction, nothing more. It just so happens that it was originally designed as one thing but it works as another.
