why not drag it to shore, load it up on a hauler, then haul it off and dismantle it in a protected environment? Why would you tear into it on the beach? Why not just move it?

So, let me get this straight... tug boats can lead/pull Tankers in and out of port, but they couldn't have pulled this boat off the shore? Seems legit. I have to believe the hull was so damaged, that the boat wasn't salvageable

No straps would be able to get under it cause it would refill and crane weighs too much. Also no winch could pull that out espically put it on a trailer.

I agree!  Even if the draft of a tug boat wouldn't allow it within range, and the hull was breached, I can think of many better options than driving excavators into the salt water to scrap it!  Obviously if you can get excavators and a dump truck to the boat, you could also get a boat trailer or even a crane to it.  =P
