Most people in France try to take Sundays off, and in Paris, it's generally a time to get out in the afternoon, often after a long, possibly heavy lunch, to "take some ...
The best prices are in January! It is totally dark and can be really cold
then, however! For sales and "inside activities," once you get past the
Christmas and New Year's stuff, prices are at the absolute lowest! Blue
skies are extremely rare in Paris, at least for entire days! One of the
reasons so many of the roofs are grey is because it was considered more
harmonious, more aesthetically correct! Woody Allen likes it here for that
reason -- he says it's less jarring to his nerves!
Remember, if you guys want, I charge, but hey, I'm worth it! I do custom
trips for people for France and can handle everything (if I don't know a
region or a place or have the solution, I just tell the truth). We've
gotten good at renting furnished places and it is so good and cheap and
fabulous but they don't speak any English and it can be very complicated!
The rented house we just had in Murol, France, well, the clips are up. And
Gordes the week after ... my best to you!!!!
Thank heaven you have a reasonable attitude. (I'm not surprised, based on
your clips.) Yeah, I understand people don't want to shell out but my first
visit here, I would have gladly paid for a guide or SOMETHING. It is just
TOO MUCH here and I was like, HUH?!!! Also, when I moved here, I would have
paid but couldn't find anyone! By the end of the first encounter, when
people see they ALREADY SAVED, it's smiles all around! xo
Some friends from NY came here for her birthday, Jan. 6, which is Epiphany
here, a lovely week-long winter religious tradition, and they were SO
annoyed the skies were so grey! I thought that was kind of funny. It's
almost as overcast here as it was in Cleveland, Ohio, where I grew up! Ha
ha ha ha ha!!!!!!!
O thats awesome, no worries. We would prefer the extra help and have no
problem paying you as it will save us alot in the end. Will check out the
clips. Thanx a bunch
An absolutely gorgeous city. Thank you for showing it to me.

Le Marché de Saint-Denis on a Tuesday Morning -- France
copyright 2011 Lisa B. Falour, B.S., M.B.A. LISA, INC. (EURL) cutecatfaith.com all rights reserved Tuesdays are the quietest market days. The market opens ...
@ArizonaPublic Yes, there are over 80 languages spoken daily in
Saint-Denis, it is said. It varies from year to year. Right now we have no
Asiatic foods sold in town, but it does change from year to year. Lots of
Portuguese in Saint-Denis, been here since WWII when they came to rebuild
after the War. We even had a lady selling Eastern European stuff here,
which I love, but she closed up. It changes, you have to visit often and
check out the lie of the land, hee hee!
@PennyDreadfuI I have heard this is heavenly! I have yet to try a goose --
it was too expensive or too much food, at various times. My French family
has never forgiven me for making turkeys a couple of times. And they are so
good here! (They cost a fortune, though, are free range when sold for
roasting.) Just found out he's off to Brittany for "about five days" next
week. I sure hope I feel up to having some time alone! Wheeeeee!!!!!
@ArizonaPublic Savvy tourists come here to shop at this market, and not
just for food. The average price is less than half for anything you could
find in Paris, and that goes for clothing and supplies, perfume, fabric,
services and so on. I like it but Saint-Denis has a funky side to it not
everyone appreciates. Vanilla, it ain't!
@pastryparrot1 It is best on Tuesday mornings, like this. It is quite
horrible when all jammed up with people and carts. The whole market covers
a few acres and a lot is outside. You have to have a plan and a budget to
go here, otherwise you will just go crazy! Hee hee hee hee!!!!!
Lisa, There are a lot of Turks, N. Africans and middle easterners there
from what I can see, You must have a lot of good authentic selections of
traditional food... I would love to go to that market.
Blasphemy! I make goose cassoulet for just myself a couple times per year.
