I spoke with a Novi Police Officer who informed me of the "10 hand rule" a hand, after some research is approx 10 inches... A police officer can stop someone up to 40 inches (10 hands) outside of their jurisdiction IF they see that person commit a crime (or speed) inside the city/county limits

i see them on the Detroit side a bit but ye like i said any department can make a stop anywhere there just suppose to stay within their own jurisdiction

I think the initial crime happened on the other side of 8 mile and the OCSD initiated the stop on the Detroit side...

Any department can make a traffic stop anywhere why do you think you see Ferndale on 8 mile all the time
