In a bit of a slap in the face to both domestic and a foreign luxury automaker. Ford showed off their twin turbo direct injected 2010 Taurus SHO competing in a ...
I am an engineer for an automobile manufacturer and my previous job
involved diagnosing difficult concerns and determining their warranty
elligibility. TRUST ME. If you put an aftermarket calibration in your
vehicle and said calibration can, in any way, be attributed to a component
failure (given the calibration can be detected) your repair coverage WILL
BE DENIED. Read a warranty and policy manual for christs sake. The only
thing lost in the 70's is disco and your knowledge of warranty coverage
Uh, no, price range. It would be so easy to tune that Twin Turbo SHO to
make ridiculous amounts of power, and AWD, and if you have the 12S package
like me...mmmmm so nice. I'll never go nuts it's our new family car, just
saying. It's funny, I got a lot of car and one hell of a good deal, but I
admit I was VERY lucky to find a SHO with the 12S package, which I
practically got for free after cash for clunkers, plus another gov tax
break and incredibly good trade-in value on the Viggen I traded in.
I can prove you wrong. A lot of what you say is not in any way a lie or
deception, and I rather enjoy your response, however, companies DO make
handheld programmers that with the press of a few buttons, answering a few
questions, you can tune your car for some added power, sometimes even
better fuel mileage. I use one on my 99GT when it was new, on my 2004 Cobra
Terminator which I still have, and I NEVER had a problem when either car
broke, although the Terminator never broke on me. I give up...
Lemme clear something up, I may have confused people a little. When I said
"Which I practically got for free", I was only referring to the 12S
package, not the car heh. These things run over 40k in some places, but
after my trade in, instant cash back, tax break, and 0% financing, I only
paid 31k in the end, and got a LOT of car. Hell the Viggen was amazing but
nearly 100k miles, Saab W/ 100Kmi = death very soon. Amazing, I'm so lucky,
2010 Ford Taurus SHO 12S, AWD, 3.5L Twin Turbo. 365hp/350tq
Also, first chance I get I will purchase a similar handheld for my new
Taurus SHO. I don't care what you say, or anyone else here. I read the
warranty info on the product, and I know I'm protected, and I was 5 times
when my 99 Mustang GT needed work. (The left head had to be replaced due to
piston slap, they did not void my warranty due to the software) Plus an
additional 4 other trips to the dealer for smaller issues, driver seat, a
seat belt issue, the rear end was whining. ALL COVERED. LMTFA
What? Dude you're a troll, period, jealousy turns people inside out man.
Did you even click my name and view my channel; on the left side I have
links to some recent pictures. I've owned the dub since new, $12k invested,
Euro front end, custom made grille, FK silverline suspension, adjustable
height/dampers, MKIV Head Gasket, 268 Shrek cams and Powerdyne
Supercharger. Plus the cosmetics. '95 Saab Stg 3 2.0 Turbo, and my best,
2003 Cobra Terminator. 2.8H Kenne Bell blower + much more. FUCK YOU.
I race faggot pussy cars? There are so many things wrong with that comment
I can't possibly respond fully. I have countless time and $ invested in my
VR6, 325whp and it weighs about as much as a civic, do the math. And you'll
call a 2003 Cobra Terminator a faggot pussy car? A Kenne Bell 2.8H is fag
huh, it's the largest kit they even make, 556rwhp, 601rwt...right. You're a
jealous bitch. You obviously didn't peep my channel, now you're BLOCKED,
fucking psycho. Get an education and a life. /END
My new SHO with a reprogram (That does not void the warranty) adds 55hp,
that's 425hp, 6 speed AWD. So lets take these cars on a circuit, not a drag
strip, and see what happens. Even a stock SHO, would shred them, AWD= Uber
fun hitting the apex. I would know :) Overall I'm very happy with my SHO,
mine has the display, not all have the nav display, so I don't have to use
my cell. The power is amazing(esp with reprogram), and when the wifey
drives it, I can limit the speed to 65 with the key.
I'm a fag, why? You have horrible grammar, worse, I can't even make sense
of what you're trying to say. Are you upset I used the word "Dawg"? Big
deal so I mocked you.. and I'm a faggot, and I cannot read
properly...right. You sound like you haven't even a high school education,
yet you'll judge me. You're an egocentric narcissist, not to be
presumptuous, but look at what you've said. You're all over me and for
what? Do you take this "that" 'seriously? I recommend an education, and a
life.
there's some guys on youtube that for some reason like to drag people into
senseless arguments, they always start out with an insult and ridiculous
claim they know more than you--and yes, they love to use profanity to
agrevate you, funny thing is at the end--they never proved their point and
could never prove you wrong--all they're really doing is doing what they do
best...disturb the peace and logic...best thing to do is ignore them--if
you figure out how...let me know
It doesn't say but I'd have to assume this is a 1/8th mile race. And, I
don't know if you actually watched the video, but the SHO did win. I would
have to think a lighter, DI TT car would have the advantage down that
second stretch of the track, so if this truly is just 1/8th mile, I believe
the SHO would have pulled away and beaten the Chrysler in the 1/4 as well.
These are assumptions, try to keep your head on straight...
@PSmooth81892 - umm....that's why they didn't race it with the SRT8 300C -
those cars aren't even meant to compare. Actually the 2010 SHO is light
years ahead of both cars it raced against, so I guess you could make the
argument that the SHO should have raced against a Camry and Accord - - - -
but how boring would that have been? Both Camry and Accord wouldn't have
even been in the picture when the SHO crossed the line.
Good job, Ford. BUT I do question those turbos since they make the engine
more vulnerble to overheating even if it has a cooling system which needs
maintenance and may FAIL. This can be much worse than replacing/maintaining
Audi's expensive parts as it will need a more expensive rebuild. I think
that's why Audi believes turbos as being the LAST RESORT since they would
rather replace components than engines.
Any aftermarket calibration will void warranty on repairs that can be
attributed to the modification (which is about anything other than a broken
valvesrping). This is true in almost every manufacturer. The kicker is
whether or not the aftermarket cal is detectable by the factory.... Why the
hell would I offer to pay for repairs to a powertrain if it is running on
someone elses calibration?
yes ,it is a proven fact!,, ur a mongoloid idiot. the taurus cant even beat
a g37 infiniti. dont believe every video u see on you tube, and my hemi
isnt slow, i got an srt 8 chrysler 300 that has been bord out to 426ci with
vortec super charger pushing 14 psi with 3:73 rear end. if u wanna talk
shit, square up and run ur car for mine ,title for title my car is paid for
,, is urs?
@JesseGboy Good point..you know something else that a lot of people don't
really know about the ecoboost engine is that they have a experimental 3.5
L GTDI EcoBoost engine which is rated at 315Hp and 535Tq with also a flat
torque curve, Only can we wonder how fast the S H O would be with that
engine installed. And also the 360/350 isn't even close to what this engine
can handle.
I don't know anything about cars because of your comment? When did I say
the SHO beat the SRT8 in the 1/4mi? You're making this shit up, or you're
replying to the wrong person. Regardless I won't argue on the internet,
anyone who would take a 5.7 Hemi over a 3.5l Directed Injected, Twin Turbo
AWD is a joke, kinda like you. Man youtube gets worse by the day with these
trolls.
5900 pounds may be the gross weight for a challenger but the( curb weight)
is what you need to be looking at !!!,which is a whole lot less!all you
guys need to know what you are talking about/and double check your sources
before you post your comment!,carfreak493 is right,thats a 5.7 300c/ a srt8
would have blown the doors off the other 2!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah you couldn't be more right. Sadly there's not much we can do about
trolls, and I only enable them by letting them speak, I should have ignored
it from the beginning, they always give up. If it were a forum, I certainly
wouldn't have responded how I did. But yes, you're exactly right. It's nice
to see another intellectual here, level headed.
2013 TAURUS SHO UPGRADED!!! VIDEO REVIEW and WRITTEN REVIEW
READ MY REVIEW FOR THE 2013 TAURUS SHO. //www.epinions.com/review/2013_Ford_Taurus_epi/content_585554759300 I still think the CHRYSLER ...
+BklynJayL You've obviously never been to a test and tune day... Drag stips aren't only open for competition idiot. The time starts as soon as the tire leave the line, not when the light turns green. People don't go to the track to work on their reaction time. They can improve that with sims. They go to get better at driving the car or test the new setup. You can have a perfect reaction time, but if you don't know how to launch, you're just gonna spin or bog. So yeah... the Porsche won. I'm sure if they were actually competing, the driver wouldn't have waited almost a half sec before launching. The tarus driver even left .1 sec too soon... So any way you look at it... the tarus red lighted and the porsche put up a better time... Porsche won, no question about it.
And, you mean to tell me you, think the Porsche REALLY won? Did YOU really watch the whole video?? If you watch this whole video closely, you'll see the Ford crossing the quarter mile 1st.. Somehow, those times was altered.
If it wasnt for Obama Chevy and Chrysler would be gone hell Cheys corvette decided since he saved the company to put his face on the front of Corvettes and the smiley face on the Camaros and Hell Cats are just Hell
What do you mean ford power? Did you watch till the end? Even with the delayed start the Porsche still ran the 1/4 mile faster than the ford. More like Porsche power!Porsche 14.81 Ford 14.85
Turbo slight advantage on the start, is this even fair between the two
cars? If that porche had a turbo I dont think this would even be close.
Or am I just a dude with a big dizlnick?
umm... turbo's take time to spool up, they not the best thing for drag racing, that's why dragsters use super chargers, but if you notice, the Tarus red lighted(left when the lights were still yellow, which turns red when you leave too soon), and the Porsche probably wasn't even trying to race the Tarus, just trying to get the best time possible.
the 911 has about the same hp but weighs much les, there is no excuse for it to run such a shit time except for a bad driver, then again, the SHO also ran a shit time due to bad driving.
+aaron monke meant that that's what helped keep it out in Front. I have a stock 2011 SHO and beat a 2015 gt with intake and exhaust to 120 then he blew by. The awd helps on the launch but the tune the SHO in this video isWhat keeps him ahead of the stang
+Lars Frerichs Lars that is not true, small turbines spool up and build boost just as fast as a supercharger. My truck and this sho are a perfect example of this and there is no parasitic power loss as opposed to a crank driven blower
+aaron monke Superchargers give you power off the line not Turbos. I like the SHO and will probably get a 2010 model soon. But I guess it really depends on the driver.
+Lars Frerichs Yeah exactly, and in my opinion I would take the Mustang over the Taurus any day. The second that car get to a corner that 4000lbs+ of weight will screw you over :P
+Lars Frerichs Yes but all of that is on paper, keep in mind that the Taurus will get 5.2 almost every time because of its AWD and it only comes in auto so its as simple as pressing the gas pedal to the floor. Where things get different with the Mustang's 0-60 is that its RWD meaning that getting the power down is much harder resulting in wheel spin, too little power or the occasional perfect launch. I'm also fairly certain the the Mustang was manual by the sound of the wheels spinning on literally every shift which would make the launch harder and slower to do (and the drive of the Mustang was pretty shit).
+Tim “Tp” Parrish My IS350 beat a G8 GT from stoplight to Stoplight. Even I was suprised by that outcome , but then again , most people dont realize how aggresive the gears on an is350 are. (always. funny when I beat other people, including 2 v6 camaros , a V6 mustang and an SRT4)Fact of the matter is that the G8 GT weighs a ton and has less power than a GTO due to DoD or something like that. Im pretty sure it would have taken me in the long run but it was just a short sprint to about 75ish. The weight of the car really kills it off the line, same goes for the Gto and its horrible wheelhop. Still though, i absolutely love G8's and think they look awesome.
+Marcus Fox hate to break your heart but you beat the G8 GT with the 3.2 litre. 6.0L or 6.2L was one of the fastest sedans in the world at the timeI don't care what kinda bolt-ons you had on that stang...you would need engine from a f-22 raptor...alot of folks see the gt badge on the g8 and think they just beat a 6L.
+William Leonard My 2012 V6 mustang with bolt ons (350ish HP) beats my buddies G8 GT. Not by much but it does. And I love his car, I'm just being completely honest. Those cars are pretty heavy and they aren't like the 6.0 GTOs. They do have 40 less hp.
