Moneyball A's nab Japanese shortstop Hiroyuki Nakajima 中島裕之
Japanese shortstop Hiroyuki Nakajima finally realized his dream of playing for a Major League Baseball team after he opted to become a free agent and signed ...
6.5 million is perfect! Some shortstops are way more expensive! If he hits
.240/.250, i don't really care because the A's won last year with a low
team batting average. Clutch hitting and solid defense will do the job
well. Excellent pick up by Beane.
Do you also believe that he's worried about not enough bathtubs in America?
He's been to the States, he's not worried about bathtubs, he's going to
miss Japanese style tubs which are significantly different and better, in
my opinion. Changing his words gives people a very different sense of his
character. It wouldn't be a very Japanese thing to do to correct him
publicly, so he smiles. Like I said before, it worked to Nakajima's
advantage, but it was a poor translation of what he said.
Hi Oakland. His defense is not good in Japan. So please don't have
expectations his defense. If you want to see the video of him good
defensive play then you should enter "西武 中島 ファインプレー" to youtube. My English
is not good. I hope you'll understand.
This was horrible translating. He said that he's kakkoi, which usually
translates to cool, not sexy. The translator added a number of words that
Nakajima didn't actually say...but I guess in the long run it paid off for
his popularity.
Oakland is getting stacked the cheap and right way, go ahead Angels spend
millions we still got the west, cannot wait for this season to start. Nice
explosions in the sky touch to this video
sorry man. i meant it in a good way tho. dirty as in fun, exciting,
awesome. i think he's going to such a good addition to the As. U going to
spring training?
How about the part about ofuro? Translator makes him sound like he doesn't
realize that America has bathtubs. His English is good enough that he most
likely understood what the translator said, but he has a good personality
and wouldn't say something. He is very playful, but he isn't an
idiot...which the translator sort of made him out to be.
Kakkoii means more like stylish and cool just like an expresion when you
see a Ferrari elegantly passing beside you .... In my opinion, his playing
style was so Kakkoii in Japan and he should prove it again in USA
Not in this context. Kakkoii means cool here. Definitely not sexy. Poor
guy, his English is not good enough to express himself and the interpreter
jacked him up.
