A few weeks ago I was confused by a post from Google asking me to login
with my real (fake) name. I closed the browser and shut down, but realized
that I was almost tricked into changing my username. Of course my username
is nothing but reputation, but I've worked hard to cultivate friendships
based on it. Evidently there is a lot of money behind the notion of selling
our personal information to third parties, but it's evidently no good
unless Google gets us to use real names. They are working hard to force it
to happen, even resorting to subterfuge.
