+steiger chris reboot into safe mode and and hopefully if you try to do the same the file/folder will not be locked. If it is a system file/folder you might have difficulty still....

will it work from a flash drive/CD or, Do i need to copy the whole

+Hector Castillo You only need the explorer executable. I've expanded my technical knowledge a lot since I made this video :) Explorer will work from any location as long as it's running.

I have a Dell desk top with WindowsXP, after my internet connection died in
the middle of FB, my computer froze and I couldn't even shut it down, so I
had to unplug it from the power source. Few hours later, I replugged it
back in, turned it on...now I get a black screen with text..says my windows
is trying to start up..but after 30 seconds or so...it restarts it self
again..I even tried to start it in "Safe Mode" but it still keeps
restarting windows in a black screen with text...over and over. Luckily, I
have a back-up Acer computer with Widows7..but I miss my Dell Window's XP.
Is this computer error fixable?..if not, I really need to try to retrieve
my data (i.e. genealogy, photo's etc).

+Tracey Ross If you can get into command prompt from the safe mode selection screen, run "sfc /scannow" without the quotes.) This will check for missing files in Windows. If you cannot do this, make a Windows XP install disc and try to repair your Windows installation. If that does not work, you will have to boot into a "Live CD" (or any other "live" media) and copy your files from there off the machine. Then reinstall Windows XP clean. I have a clean, OEM (for PCs with a copy of Windows installed by OEMs, like Dell) Windows XP Home CD. I can make an .iso of that CD if you'd like, which you can use to make a CD to install Windows XP or repair it.

+Red Lah On my Windows 8 Pro machine, it is under that folder. Make sure you are under HKEY_Local_Machine\SOFTWARE\MicrosoftI can probably make a .reg file if need be. All you'd have to do is click and run it and it'd fix it.

@iGaM3RzZz Well you will need a wireless router. If you have one then look
for your computer's IP address. When you have your IP address go to your
PSP run PSPdisp, then go to change settings , then go to the second page
pressing the R trigger and Host IP address 1 type in your IP address of
your computer. And make sure that on your computer on the PSP disp
connection settings are set to both USB and Wlan.

if it does not work go to C:/windows/system32/ and find hal.dll get rid of

I did all this and got the following in the General Tab of the Properties
section
"Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for
this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a
file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious
software from an unknown source. (Code 52)"
How do I get around this?
