The Yellowstone " hot spot" is said not to move, the north American continent moves west across it. this Ares of north America and the Nevada Great Basin. Has moved over the hotspot. Accounting for the mass amounts of micro gold being mined now. The Great Basin itself being a very ancient and old opening of what is now the Yellowstone caldera. Towards northern Nevada and up into Idaho threw Elko, Lander , and Eureka county you will find old lava flows and evidence of ancient lava lake deposits. Even a very evident collapsed dome on the mountain above the town of Owyhee. This filled with gigantic lava boulders. All threw Nevada and now southern Idaho into Montana carries the scared evidences of volcanic activities. So its no doubt these assumptions could be very real.

yes, i lived there most of my life, and you are right! you can find obsidian every where in Nevada. Steamboat Springs is a small volcanic field of rhyolitic lava domes and flows in western Nevada. really i wouldnt be surprised one bit if most of Nevada was sitting on huge underground magma chambers.

I think the name discussion got a little off- the name change was their smallest problem, in my opinion. It's just terrible how not a single band from my teen years survived-and they all went down with a lot of things left unsaid,with this bitter feel. These days I remember so many of the bands I liked before, but kinda grew out of them. Their music is still impressive, so it's a good thing to know that it wasnt just a weird teen era for me. I'm bitter about what happened,yet not surprised.

Watching this and listening to 'Wegweiser' always makes me cry... I have nothing to say expect: RESPECT - for all that they've been through. They were just a group which wanted to do a true music and producers treated Nevada Tan like s*it... No comment. Human's greed is just boundless... the music business is a horrible place if you get signed with the wrong ppl, especially if you dont know what ur signing. I know from stories my friends dad tells me that its hard as fuck and the band cant sue the company or anything cuz they signed the contract and they have no say and it sucks but thats how it is. Most bands never get found out because of some of this stuff, they sign a long contract and the record lable ruins them, its sooooo sad.

it's tragic to see young bands that make beautiful music (we all know that there aren't a lot of them left) being through all these things. it's not only discouraging to other young artists but it also shows what we all know: if you don't have a famous relative or if you aren't a part of disney, you don't much deserve respect. too bad they split up! they are a lot better that other artists of their age who are a lot more famous right now.....

Hi Thanks for your comment ^^ It wasn't universal who did this, they are just Panik's recordlabel. They had two managers, who were also their producers. Because of these two men, Panik did not have immediate contact with universal. They lied to panik about things Universal wanted and did. About the video's: there are several sites whith wich you can download video's directly from youtube, use google to find these sites ;)

The're some really good bands in german. But the people give up on them. Look how England just support everyband that's good. They make it then through the world and get better. And the producers...man I dont know how many bands in germany went under just because of some money greed fuckers. Well I hope these guys make it to something far more cause they aren't bad at all.

That's so sad for them! My family has worked in the music industry for most of their lives, and the worst part about it is that things like this really do happen! Thank God though that Panik has gone on to continue to produce amazing music and to be one of the greatest bands of the time. What a story of hope!

Thanks for this. I always wondered why they changed their name back to Panik, so thanks alot. I love this band, even though I don't speak or understand German. To know what they're singing I cheat and look up the lyrics in English. Oh well. I still love them and can't wait to hear more!

Like I said, they chose that name with good reasons. Because they where shocked about this happening, that something like that could happen. They wanted to send a message. Though I personally like the name panik better.
