How to knit by pictures Videos

Thanks for a great tutorial :) I am knitting something which is 60 stitches wide and in a single row the pattern reads from right to left 3 stitches in white yarn, then 15 in grey, 4 in white, 16 in grey, 4 in white, 15 in grey and ending in 3 in white again. Am I right in thinking I have to carry 7 separate balls of wool at the back of my work or have I totally misunderstood??!! Any responses appreciated.
