Thank you for posting this video. I have two boys and I have asked the same
questions that the families asked and was brushed off like its something
not important. I think it is important because they are my children, every
family needs to know if there is something wrong with their children. Once
again it just seems like African American children are just brushed under
the rug.
Thank you for telling "our" story of broken dreams, denial, anger, fear,
guilt, shame and isolation. It's comforting to observe fathers displaying
their vulnerability. I will forward your Real Movies For Real Families to

Could be a lot of kids in Africa not in the institutions- could be a lot of
autistic African kids that didn't make it long, or that are kept somewhere
other than institutions- lots of places w/out great access to institutions.
Could be higher-functioning, non-institutionalized autistics excluded from
count by lack of screening. Could be the rate actually is lower, and the
genetic factors are less common.
