Burning trash in a controlled environment with filters on the exhaust systems is much better for the environment in the long term than putting everything into a landfill. Where I live (Switzerland), ALL of the waste is burned or recycled or composted today. They used to landfill the trash, but now they are having to painstakingly and expensively rehabilitate the old landfills because of the leaching of chemicals, industrial waste, etc. into the ground. I have lived next to and visited waste burning plants here, and there is NO smell surrounding them. I think it's a great use of previously contaminated land that cannot be used for something else. It will create well paying jobs and provide energy/steam for the area using something that would otherwise be thrown away.

Anyone have the other side of this? I would love to hear about environmental impact studies conducted on this. How filtered is the burning? I am sure it isnt like they are throwing the trash in a pit and setting it on fire. Burning trash can be a good way to produce electricity and provide jobs and doesn't have to have a major impact on air quality. What is causing the bad air quality right now in the area? Also, when they said lung cancer is high in the area, I become suspicious because the vast majority of the time the people getting lung cancer are smokers, work in industries and the workers are not being safe, etc.

Here in Phoenix we have a metal recycling property down the street from me. You know you're getting near it by the nasty chemical smell. They grind up whole cars there.

Fuckin' A... Bringing back memories of dance clubs in the 90's. It does an old fart good to see you kids appreciate the classics. Great video, but a lil suggestion, if I may. The dancing gets repetitive after a while. It would have been awesome if you would have had some super slo mo close up shots of Mary Nine while she was dancing, plus some panning shots of the NY lit up signs from the background. Easy for me to say, right? Anyway, gotta go dig up my huge platform shoes from my closet now ;)

The fan dancing I am doing is Romanian. It is European and Asian and is the same fan dancing that Prince Vlad Dracul's first wife Mina did back in the 1400s.
