This is my 2007 Toyota Tundra Crewmax TRD SR5. Toyota put a leveling kit on it. 2.5" in the front 1" in the back. I kept collapsing my front shocks and couldn't ...
How are these holding up? Any issues? Im probably going to do this or throw
a bunch of washers in under stock one to use as spacers. Just not sure how
long stock bumpstop bolts are and how big of a spacer i can use.
Thanks for this video! I have added a winch bumper and winch to my 14, and
am having alignment issues, also lifted. This may at least help my
situation
Payload Increase for your Raptor with the 4" Fox Bump Stops
See how your Raptor can handle up to triple the published payload numbers with our Stage 1-4 kit and 4" Fox Air Bumps.
Do I need these for my stock 03' Dodge Ram 4x4 ??? I need to replace my
shocks.... Which shocks are recommended? I only off road about 50% of the
time to get to a good camping spot. My main concern is a SMOOTH ride and
EXCELLENT control....Suggestions?
I guess Trent isn't at Superlift anymore? Trent when are ya going to be on
the tele again?
02 Silverado Dually Front Timbren Install 2500HD 3500
Installing Timbrens in the front of my truck to help with the weight of the plow. Doesn't really keep the truck from dropping much but feels better with the plow up.
Hi - What size Tires are you running? Did you add the keys or just crank up
the bars? What plow make & model? Could you have run set of Air bags?
Thanks for the video!
!)/$ - Thanks for all your help - Im going to do little experimenting & see what my best lift options - w/ probably do the Cognito Arms & see where I can get w/ stock keys! Thanks also for the plow help! jlo...
+Jack Lowe A set of new keys will not keep the geometry of your suspension close to factory. You might be able to get 2" out of your factory keys. If you are maxing out your keys your shocks will not be long enough. I wouldn't recommend just cranking your keys without the Cognito upper a arms. I have moved my bars so much since I got the truck I can't tell you what I got out of so many turns on the bars.
Hi - Sorry Im late getting back been real busy - Thank You so much for all the info. & advice - this past fri night on the way home I smacked a deer & took out the entire front bumper & all plastic pieces in addition to passenger headlight grill, etc - I found out that the bumpers arent much - thinking about after market or custom make one - The rural area where I live are a lot of deer & this be second time hitting one w/ this truck - Also on the keys - I kinda thought that the leveling or 2" lift after market keys were design to be able to crank up w/ out putting things in a bind or super hard/stiff ride? I know that the HD Chevy have 2" lift from the factory but im looking for about 2" more - the front definitly needs 2" - maybe I could get that w/ stock keys? How much did you get when you cranked yours? Also any issues w/ shocks - maybe need extenders or little longer - W/ 150,000 miles & original shocks still on - I should upgrade -jlo...
+Jack Lowe My truck handles the 9'6" pretty easily. When I add the wings it's a huge plow. Probably too big for the truck. My truck will push snow with the 11' plow (I have a lot of videos you can watch). I got the wings mostly to try and cover my duals while plowing. If I could go back and buy it again I would get the 8'6" with the wings. The Cognito upper control arms are a must if you are cranking up your torsion bars. They correct the geometry of your suspension. The factory upper arms are not designed for cranking the torsion bars. That is why you have heard bad things about cranking torsion bars. Because people are doing it the wrong way. You don't need new keys if you get the height you want with the factory keys. I like the height of mine with the factory keys almost maxed out. You may want to go higher. I also have Timbrens up front. If you are getting a big v plow I would suggest getting a set of Timbrens. The front ends of the 2500hd and the 3500 I believe are identical. If I was you I would get the 8'6" and if you think your truck can handle more get the wings. I also have the Cognito steering brace kit. I would recommend that too.
Thanks for the info Mr. Mossman - I run the same size tire on '04 crew cab 2500HD single wheel - Not much room to spare between front tire & bumper plastic - all stock but I have heard both good & bad about cranking bars - some same get the keys, others say waste of money? hadn't heard about Cognito UC arms - Do you think that be too much plow for my truck (also 6liter gas) - Curious to think maybe both truck (yours & mine) have the same front end or would the dually 3500 be different? Nice talking w/ you & appreciate any advice - jack....
+Jack Lowe 285/75/16 - Cognito upper control arms and my t bars are cranked almost all the way. I have a Western MVP3 9'6" with wings. With the IFS there is no room to run air bags up front. Firestone makes air shocks that can be used.
+scn102 You would be surprised to know how many people sub just to be negative and bash. That is why I say I am not sure what you meant by the comment. There is no emotions in a comment for me to judge if a person is being serious or not. I didn't know the all caps meant a quote. I try to respond to all my comments, even the negative ones. People think they can bash others because they are behind a computer and it's not right.
+scn102 dude u got to relax a lil bit , too serious,, that comment was not in any way suppose to offend u .. I was laughing because I have several old trucks 2 ( cant afford new im with u) .. I enjoyed your comment ALL NICE N RUSTY (frame stop bolts) was funny cause I say same shit all time .. I wld not subscribe to your channel then proceed to insult u . im on your team... breathe . . GEEZ
Not sure what this comment means. It's a 14 year old truck with 190k miles. I can't afford a new one with fresh undercoating. In 10 years the new one will be rusty. Especially up this far north.
I shimmed mine using large washers and longer bolt to simulate the original
factory preload of the original jounce bumpers into the LCA at original
ride height. This greatly improved the ride compliance. Additional
washers will also allow you along with your torsion adjustment to adjust
your loaded (with plow) ride height.
I just ordered a set for the sierra. It's only a 1500 and does squat more
than i would like with the plow plus the wings. I have a buddy that swears
by them and he had a 1500 as well. The factories don't look very good that
are on there now but yes, the fronts are supposed to have constant contact
and rear Timbrens are supposed to have 1" of bottom clearance according to
factory.
You will love them. If you do any research on them you will see the guys that have put them on are in love with them and mostly say they wouldn't have a truck without them now. You wont be disappointed.
+J&N Custom Services You are probably right about the ride being better with a load using the rear bags. I am working on a 33' 5th wheel camper. I believe with a dry weight of around 11000lbs. When I start pulling that I will probably install my air bags.
+mossman381 I didn't even think about you having torsion bars. I have heard good things about the Timbrens and the biggest thing is being happy or satisfied with something you buy. As for the back bags for hauling. I too have not had anything the truck cant handle but the quality of ride is almost unbelievable with the bags installed loaded and unloaded. All depends on how far you travel towing also. I have a 40 ft fifth wheel with a dry weight of almost 13000lbs. I take that thing everywhere so having the better ride quality has been awesome. But if you are are not towing very far then probably not worth it.
+CountrysideLawnNY I hear ya. I was actually surprised how easy the front bags when on. Only took me about 45 minutes to do both and run the lines to the compressor. Of course different vehicles can make the difference on install time too.
+J&N Custom Services I have a set of air bags sitting in the shop but the dually seems to handle anything I put on it with ease. They don't have air bags for the front of a chevy because they have torsion bars. Firestone makes some air shocks for the front but that is the only option. These Timbrens are easy to install and do a good job.
+CountrysideLawnNY and Mossman381 have yall ever considered airbags? I swear by them. Front bags for my 350 were less than a $100 and helped tremendously with the sag in the front with the plow. I do not have the snow plow package on my truck and with that heavy plow i needed something. Made overall ride of my truck much better too. I have had bags on the back since right after I bought the truck. I have towed a lot and and some pretty heavy stuff and I would NOT have a truck without bags to tow anything, WORLD of a difference. Just a thought for you all. You can run them to fill manually or get a on board compressor like I have., but then it gets pricey for having that convenience. I have a video you can see my front bags and another you can see how the truck doesn't squat much when i lift the plow. Just food for thought for you all. Enjoy yall videos and I plan on making more of my own.
I'm gonna do a video of mine when i put them in and we'll see what happens. I don't see how your washer idea could hurt anything since they basically give you the same thing in the package. Good thinking.
+CountrysideLawnNY Sorry, I read your comment wrong. I thought you said 1" in the front. Mine is close but still not touching. I thought about adding a big washer but I am going to wait on that.
It claims 1" clearance on rear Timbrens only. Fronts shouldn't have any. I also have a 2" leveling lift in my truck so i guess we'll see how it goes. Thanks for another great video buddy.
+CountrysideLawnNY After having the Timbrens in and using them for awhile, I wouldn't have a plow truck without them. Much more stable ride with the plow up. I didn't notice any ride difference without the plow. In my instructions I didn't see where they said it needed 1" of clearance. I have a Cognito leveling kit in my truck so I should have more room than factory trucks.
