I'd like to recommend //blackkitty.net - it's a search engine for
torrent files in the various torrage like caches and it's pretty powerful.
Indexing more than 10 Milions torrents, it's probably one of the biggests
search engine. I use it when I'm looking for something really obscure that
I can't find on the bay, and so far I love it.
I never understood the love that so many people have for this movie.
Fletcher is a fucking sadistic asshole and even Andrew can be a pretentious
little bitch at times. And why the hell would you put up with such a
massive prick in the first place?
Because he is determined to be one of the greats. Being in a family of musicians, I can confirm that my older brother is pretty relentless with like 3 hours of practice per day minimum. When one has decided that they are going to be great, they just don't stop until they get there.
I have had lots of music teachers. All of them wonderful. None of them an
asshole like this guy. No dean anywhere would ever hire him, and if he
tried to pull that psycho shit, he'd get his lights punched out. This film
had no basis in reality whatsoever. So, I give it one finger, the middle
one.
I dont think any of your teachers were from Julliard (Schaffer). I went to a state university and I can say that the marching band hated the music director with a passion.
My girlfriend's dance teacher usually screams and insults their students, obviously not as much as J.K Simmons does so I don't think this is totally unrealistic
no matter how cruel he is, point is, if you wanna be something, wanna do something, you have to work hard. extremely extremely hard to do it. in such a competitive environment with thousands upon thousands of very talented musicians, how can you prove yourself, how can you say I am different. it takes years of training and hard practice just to be musician let alone create something extraordinary. his methods may be cruel but his intentions are fair.
That's why it's called cinema. If you don't take Whiplash seriously, you would fully acknowledge that in no way would a drill sergeant of an instructor ever be allowed to be a college professor in real life.
